KF2 Biotics Lab Posters: Alert Levels and Breach Procedures

The Biotics Lab map is full of Horzine posters that are nearly unreadable at in-game resolution. A fan transcribed them, in English and German, and this page keeps the English text with light editing. Words marked (?) or [unreadable] were not legible in the original screenshots.

Alert levels

  • Level 1. Minor chemical or material spill. Minimal injury expected. Go to a local cleanup station or the nearest safety closet and use the supplied materials to clean the spill.
  • Level 2. Major chemical or material spill or another potentially spreading hazard. Injuries or losses are possible. Seal off local rooms, alert the on-duty Z-Watch and wait for instructions.
  • Level 3. Fire or other wide-reaching catastrophic hazards. Seal all affected areas immediately and go to safe rooms in the facility. If power fails, activate the manual failsafes.
  • Level 4. One to a few test specimens have broken containment. Go to safe zones and alert lab security. Seal potential escape paths and activate the manual security override. Proceed with caution.
  • Level 5. Complete containment failure. Evacuate immediately. Do not stop to activate failsafes, but try to seal doors behind you. Major loss of life and injuries expected.

Containment breach emergency procedures

In case of breach

  1. Run for your life.
  2. No really. Run for your life. Run now.
  3. Make your way to the nearest exit. If none can be found, make one by whatever means.
  4. Pray to whatever god you pray to that you make it out alive and uninfected.

If you are attacked: stop what you are doing, locate the designated Trader pod and obtain firearms.

When the alarm sounds

  1. Stop what you are doing immediately.
  2. Put all your equipment, including lab equipment, back in its designated areas.
  3. Make your way to the nearest exit (or make one).
  4. Pray that you make it out alive and uninfected.
  5. Do not stop for anything. Do not try to help colleagues who seem to be under attack. Do not, under any circumstances, engage in political conversations (?).
  6. Do not tweet what you are doing.
  7. Call the emergency hotline and report the incident, including the number of specimens outside their enclosures and any compromised coworkers.

If unable to escape: the same list again, in a mocking form ("run for your life and stuff"), with parts that are unreadable. It ends: leave all coworkers who cannot reach the evacuation zone, do not try to help anyone, and treat your own survival as the highest priority in a containment breach. The notice is to be posted in all [unreadable] and labs.

Emergency evacuation. While your survival is a priority, staff are expected to protect company property and carry valuable research and production material with them, unless said material is "correctly attached to your face".

Emergency contact: dial HZX-98918 or alert your supervisor.

Horzine Code Red. A shorter version of the same list, with the line "Do not panic, whatever you do." It closes with: when all else fails, activate the emergency on-site countermeasures; the code is posted in the designated code file. The motto: "We are security. We are safety. We are Horzine Biotech."

FAQ

What do the posters in Biotics Lab say?
They list five alert levels, from a minor spill to a total containment failure, and a Horzine emergency notice that tells staff to run, get weapons from the Trader pod and not to help colleagues.
What is the emergency hotline number on the poster?
The poster reads HZX-98918 (the German version of the transcript has -98919); the text is hard to read at game resolution.
