Transport in Lineage 2: Ships, Teleports and Dragons

Ships, teleports, striders and wyverns

There are not many ways to get around the Lineage 2 world, but they do exist. Below is an overview of every kind of transport, from the most accessible to the most prestigious.

Ship

A huge vessel plies the seas and will take you to the continent for a relatively small fee. The ticket price depends on the distance - 2,600 or 10,400 adena. There are three well-known ports:

  1. The port on Talking Island.
  2. The port of Gludin.
  3. The port of Giran.

In the author's opinion this is the least comfortable kind of transport. A fresh breeze keeps getting into your hair, and anyone prone to seasickness won't enjoy the voyage. Besides, over many centuries not a single count, lord or king has invested a single adena in shipping: the ships leak, the masts are falling apart and passengers keep falling overboard.

Teleports

One of the most popular ways to travel. Long ago a deal was struck with the mages' guild, under which almost every town has a mage (Gatekeeper) who can transport you to a fairly distant place. No trouble, no bandits or pirates - instant and painless. The only downside is the price: teleports hit your budget hard.

Riding dragon (Strider)

This kind of transport is not very popular for several reasons:

  1. Getting an egg is not easy: you need to reach level 35 and pass a trial to receive a one-year-old hatchling (see Hatchling).
  2. Once you have it, you have to take care of it and train it - we are responsible for those we tame.
  3. For the dragon to grow up fully, your clan must own a castle or at least a clan hall with a stable in one of the towns.

But if you manage to raise it, you won't regret it: you get a wonderful friend and fast transport that can take you anywhere in no time. See Strider: From Hatchling to Riding Dragon for details.

Flying dragon (Wyvern)

Rightly considered the best means of transport: a wyvern will take you to absolutely any point of the world - even a mountaintop or the roof of the Giran cathedral. But it has serious downsides:

  1. You first need a riding dragon.
  2. You need to own a castle.
  3. Only a clan leader can get a wyvern.

Like riding dragons, wyverns can attack enemies. The difference is that wyverns breathe fire that burns everything around, while striders strike with their horn.
