Dwarf First Class Change: Scavenger and Artisan
Level 20 quests for Dwarven Fighter
Dwarves get their first profession at level 20: a Dwarven Fighter chooses between Scavenger and Artisan. The quest can be taken from level 19. Both quests start in Dwarf Village (with Collector Pippi and Blacksmith Silvery), and the profession is granted in Gludin: the Scavenger by Warehouse Chief Moke in the warehouse, the Artisan by Head Blacksmith Tapoy. The quest descriptions from the database reflect Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny.
Before you start
- What to bring: adena for teleports, Map: Elmore and Map: World, 10 SoE just in case, a supply of Soulshots.
- "Talk to" means: choose QUEST in the dialogue and click through all the lines. If the dialogue offers a choice that the route does not mention, the choice does not matter (or the description is incomplete).
- To get the profession, choose INFORMATION ON CHANGE OCCUPATION instead of QUEST when talking to the NPC, then the desired profession in the second menu and CHANGE OCCUPATION in the third.
- The routes list what you receive, not which items are taken away.
- Quest items can drop rarely, but usually no more than 10 monsters per item (in some cases up to 30-50). If it takes much longer, you will have to restart the quest.
- Teleports are optional - you can save money by walking.
Scavenger
Quest Path to become a Scavenger (Dwarven Fighter). Started by Collector Pippi in Dwarf Village. To become a Scavenger you need the permission of the missing Master Toma. His younger sister, Trader Mion, may know where he is.
- Teleport to Dwarf Village. Talk to Collector Pippi and receive Pippi's Letter of Introduction.
- Talk to Trader Mion and receive one of three errands: deliver a parcel to one of the NPCs in the village.
- Deliver the parcel, return to Trader Mion and talk to her.
- Repeat the previous step until you receive Mion's Letter.
- Teleport to the Northern Coast. Find Master Toma, talk to him and receive Bear Pic.
- Use an SoE and teleport to the Northern Coast. Hunt Hunter Bear until a Honey Bear appears. Kill it and receive Honey Jar.
- Repeat the previous step until you collect 5 Honey Jar.
- Talk to Master Toma and receive Tarantula Pic.
- Hunt Hunter Tarantula and Plunder Tarantula until you collect 20 Bead.
- Talk to Master Toma and receive Bead Parcel.
- Use an SoE and teleport to Gludin. In the warehouse talk to Warehouse Keeper Raut (Warehouse Freightman Raut in the quest text) and receive Rout's Teleport Scroll for his nephew.
- Teleport to Gludio, then to Dion and Giran, and run to Death Pass (according to the quest text, the nephew lives in Dragon Valley). Find Torai, talk to him and receive Succubus Undies.
- Use an SoE and teleport via Dion and Gludio to Gludin. In the warehouse talk to Warehouse Keeper Raut and receive Ring Of Raven.
- In the warehouse talk to Warehouse Chief Moke and become a Scavenger.
Important: in this quest you must use Spoil on the monsters and Sweep on their corpses. The quest items (Honey Jar and Bead) drop only after a successful Spoil. According to the quest text, Hunter Bears live north of the western entrance to the Abandoned Coal Mines, where the two shorelines meet.
How to find Master Toma quickly
Every 30 minutes Master Toma teleports in a circle: Abandoned Coal Mines, Mithril Mines, a small island off the coast.
- Run north to the Mithril Mines. If Master Toma is not there, he is either on the island or in the Abandoned Coal Mines.
- Run to the island. If he is not there either and you got there quickly, he is in the Abandoned Coal Mines.
- Run north to the entrance of the Abandoned Coal Mines and on into the pit, to the very bottom of the mine. If Master Toma is not there either, he teleported while you were running, but you lost no more than 5-10 minutes.
- Use an SoE and start again from step 1.
Even in the worst case, searching this way takes 15-20 minutes, 2-3 SoE and about 1,500 adena.
Reward: Ring Of Raven - the token for changing class to Scavenger.
Artisan
Quest Path to an Artisan (Dwarven Fighter). Started by Blacksmith Silvery (also spelled Silvera in the database) in Dwarf Village. A future Artisan must pass the tests of three blacksmiths.
- Teleport to Dwarf Village. Talk to Blacksmith Silvery and receive Silvery's Ring.
- Run to the Abandoned Coal Mines and hunt Boogle Ratman until you collect 10 Boogle Ratman Tooth.
- In the same place hunt Boogle Ratman Leader until you collect 2 Boogle Ratman Leader Big Tooth. On free servers, look for Boogle Ratman and Boogle Ratman Leader in the Mithril Mines.
- Use an SoE. Talk to Blacksmith Silvery and receive 1st Pass Certificate.
- Teleport to Gludin. In the smithy talk to Blacksmith Kluto and receive Kluto's Letter.
- Teleport to Gludio. Talk to Blacksmith Pinter and receive Footprint Of Thief - the item Kluto ordered from Pinter was stolen by an orc.
- Teleport to Gludin and run south-east of the town to Windmill Hill. Hunt Vuku Orc Fighter until you get Stolen Secret Box. On free servers, look for Vuku Orc Fighter north-west of Gludin.
- Use an SoE and teleport to Gludio. Talk to Blacksmith Pinter and receive Secret Box and 2nd Pass Certificate.
- Teleport to Gludin. Talk to Blacksmith Kluto, choose <I've got it, but have no idea what does it for> and receive Final Pass Certificate.
- Talk to Head Blacksmith Tapoy and become an Artisan.
Reward: Final Pass Certificate - the token for changing class to Artisan.
