Pailaka - Injured Dragon: instance walkthrough

Pailaka - Injured Dragon is an instance quest set in the Varka Silenos lands: you fight your way through several walls of monsters to the instance boss Latana and kill it. The quest can be completed only once - on the main class or on a subclass. The level limit is strict: 73 to 77, so once you reach level 78 the quest is no longer available.

Preparation and entry

NPC	Location

The Ketra Orc Shaman and his position near the western exit of Town of Goddard.

1. Find the Ketra Orc Shaman - he stands by the stairs next to the western exit of Town of Goddard.
2. Before entering, get as many buffs as you can and take some Great Healing Potions just in case. All classes except those with the Inquisitor skill (Bishop, Elven Elder) should bring a couple of thousand Soulshot A-grade.
3. Talk to the NPC and teleport into the instance.

4. At the entrance, talk to the Ketra Orc Supporter to receive the Spear of Silenos. Classes with Inquisitor do not need it, but everyone else will find it very handy.

The goal and the spear

Your task is to reach the instance boss Latana through the walls of monsters and kill it. The boss sits in a dead end in the west of the Varka lands; on the map this spot is right below the Demon Fortress marker.

While fighting with the spear you get the Critical Up skill, which raises critical rate and attack speed. The more critical hits you land on monsters, the higher the skill level. Once it reaches 7, use the second skill, Obliteration Storm: it deals huge damage and stuns nearby monsters. Afterwards, cast the first skill (Crit Rate + P. Attack Speed) on yourself again.

Damage dealers kill monsters with the spear, while Bishops, Elven Elders and other healers fight in Inquisitor form.

Walkthrough

Step	What to do
1	Straight ahead of the entrance there is a wall of monsters - do not rush to attack it. Turn left before the entrance: there is a large meadow with antelopes. They drop Quick Healing Potion, Pailaka (instantly restores a lot of HP) and Pailaka Instant Shield (invulnerability for 3 seconds). Kill all the antelopes and collect the items.
2	Go back to the first wall of goats and kill it - you cannot go around it, you will be teleported back. In Inquisitor form try to attack from range: if you get close, another row of goats appears behind the wall. You do not need to kill it - once the front row falls, the back row disappears by itself. The back row goes down in three hits of the spear's area skill. Drink QHP from time to time and use the shields to protect yourself from magic. A Sword Singer should sing Song of Flame Guard and Song of Warding in addition to Song of Hunter.
3	Pick up the dropped QHP and shields and move on, slightly to the left, to the bridge (there are something like black stones on both sides of its entrance). The second wall stands on the bridge. Recover and attack while your buffs are still fresh. Collect the dropped potions and shields. If you need to recover mid-fight, just run a short distance away - the monsters will not chase you.
4	Bear slightly left again - there is a passage with the third wall of monsters. It is easy to miss. A landmark: if the monsters face you, you are going the right way; if they have their backs to you, that is the way back.
5	After the third wall there is a fork - turn left. In the passage stands an NPC who can upgrade the spear and give you buffs (no more than 5).
6	At the next fork turn right and you immediately run into the last, fourth wall. The instance boss is behind it.
7	Kill Latana (see below).
8	After the boss dies, a Ketra Orc Supporter appears. He takes the spear and the unused potions and hands out the reward.

If you die, do not despair: relog (you will end up in town), get resurrected, rebuff and hurry back into the instance - monsters you have already killed do not respawn. You get plenty of time to complete it - 90 minutes.

Boss Latana

Boss	Location

Latana has only about 80,000 HP and dies fairly quickly. However, it has very nasty magic that deals serious damage. When you see the boss rear up and prepare to cast, use a Pailaka Instant Shield on yourself. Do not forget the QHP either.

If you reach the boss with no shields or potions left: at the fork before the last wall, turn right. There is a meadow guarded by a small wall of monsters. Kill it and walk onto the meadow - striped green antelopes roam there and drop plenty of potions and shields. Collect them and return to the boss.

Reward

The Ketra Orc Supporter takes the spear and the remaining potions and gives you:

• Pailaka Shirt (A grade);
• a full Vitality refill;
• 28,000,000 XP;
• 2,850,000 SP.

Buffers in the instance

Two Ketra Orc Intelligence Officer NPCs in the instance upgrade the spear and give buffs.
