Unity 6 Upgrade Wizard
A tailored checklist: official Unity upgrade docs in order, pipeline-specific links, package follow-ups, and labeled studio notes.
How it works
- Select the Unity line you are on today, your render pipeline, and the package areas that matter for your project.
- Generate an ordered checklist: preparation → Editor/API → pipeline docs → selected packages → verification.
- Export Markdown for tickets or Confluence; read the editoral section only as supplemental experience, not as Unity policy.
Target: Unity 6 LTS (6000.x). The checklist orders official Unity Manual / package links first, then editorial notes (clearly separated — not from Unity).
Choose your project context and click Generate checklist to build an ordered, doc-linked plan.
FAQ
- Is this official Unity documentation?
- No. The ordered steps and links point to Unity’s manuals and package docs. The “editorial notes” section is separate studio guidance, not from Unity Technologies.
- Does this cover every package?
- It covers common pipelines and selectable risk areas. Add your own items in the exported Markdown for proprietary plugins or internal tools.
- Can I use this for bumps inside Unity 6 only?
- Yes — select “Unity 6.0.x” or “Unity 6.3+” as your current version. The checklist de-emphasizes the major “Upgrade to Unity 6” block and focuses on minors, packages, and verification.
