How to add a mutator to the server
In order to add a mutator to the server you need:
- Stop the server
?Mutator=Названиемутатора.Названиемутатора
?Mutator=MutKFAntiBlocker.MutKFAntiBlocker
Mutator=(ClassName=KFNadeWarn.MutNadeWarn
?Mutator=KFNadeWarn.MutNadeWarn
It’s just that often the text before the period is the same as after the point, but this is not a panacea!
- Find the KillingFloor.ini file in the system folder
- Open it with notepad
ServerPackages=XInterface
ServerPackages=GUI2K4
ServerPackages=xVoting
ServerPackages=Название мутатора
ServerPackages=MutKFAntiBlocker
?Mutator=MutKFAntiBlocker.MutKFAntiBlocker,KFMMaxPlayerMod.MutMaxPlayerMod
Symptom of a missing ServerPackages line: invisible zeds
From the killingfloor.ru forum thread "Не работает мутатор ClotDay": with the Clot Day mutator installed on a hosted server, players were killed by invisible clots. The checklist given there:
KillingFloor.inicontainsServerPackages=clotsday;- the mutator's settings section (
[ClotsDay.ClotsDay]) is present at the end of the file; - the server start line contains
?Mutator=ClotsDay.ClotsDay.
According to the replies, the invisibility is caused by the missing ServerPackages=clotsday line: without it, clients do not get the mutator's package. One participant reported that adding the line and reinstalling did not help him. Another advice from the thread: test the mutator alone, without other mutators, to rule out a conflict.
A similar case from the "Не видно в сетевой игре мутантов" thread (killingfloor.ru forum): on a listen server with several mutators, the host saw the zeds but the players who joined did not. limikus's advice: list the mutator packages in KillingFloor.ini at the very bottom of the [Engine.GameEngine] section, one line per package, for example:
[Engine.GameEngine]
...
ServerPackages=ClotsDay
ServerPackages=KFStalkNudeVTwo
ServerPackages=KFSurpriseBloatMut
ServerPackages=MutArchonF
EditPackages will not help. In the "Не видно мобов в игре по локальной сети" (zeds not visible in a LAN game) thread on the killingfloor.ru forum, a player with zeds from the DOOM3KF and BMP mutators added them as EditPackages= lines (such as EditPackages=Doom3KFBeta4.HellKnight), and nothing changed. hex_91's answer: EditPackages is for building (compiling); what is needed is ServerPackages, with only the package name, not the name of the zed itself. The same problem with weapons (not visible in the inventory, but their weight counts) is fixed the same way: the weapon itself should have bAddToServerPackages=True, or its package is listed as a ServerPackages= line (the thread's example: ServerPackages=M320_A); if textures are missing, their packages also go into ServerPackages.
Where to get the name for ?Mutator=: the .ucl file
From the "Сборка KF 1037" and "Сервер крашится при включении мутатора" threads (killingfloor.ru forum):
- Next to the mutator's
.ufile there is a.uclfile (for example,ServerPerksMut.uandServerPerksMut.ucl). Open the.uclin Notepad: itsClassNamevalue is what goes after?Mutator=(for ServerPerks,?Mutator=ServerPerksMut.ServerPerksMut). Further mutators are added separated by commas. ServerPackagestakes only the package name, without the class. For ServerPerks these are three lines:ServerPackages=ServerPerks,ServerPackages=ServerPerksMut,ServerPackages=ServerPerksP.- A server crashed on startup with the IJC weapon pack because the mutator was entered incorrectly. The correct names from the
.uclareIJCWeaponPack-WhiteV27.MutKFWeaponPackandIJCWeaponPack-BDRifle-WhiteV27.MutIJCBDWeaponPack(H0ff's advice). He also noted that weapons do not have to be loaded as a mutator but can be added to Custom Shop or ServerPerks; if they are listed in Custom Shop, adding them to the batch file is not necessary.
