KF2 Mister Torgue Trader Voice Mod: Install and Uninstall

Mister Torgue Trader is a small audio mod for Killing Floor 2 that swaps the Trader's voice lines for ones in the style of the loud Borderlands character Mister Torgue. It is not a Workshop item: the author distributes it as two zip archives, and it works by dropping replacement audio files into the game's Published folder. This is a paraphrase of the author's short install guide. If you only want the Trader to be quiet, see muting traders and narrators; for similar voice replacements see the Darkest Dungeon announcer mod and GLaDOS and KF1 trader voices.

Versions

  • Version 2 (more quiet): the toned-down mix for people who do not want shouting after every wave.
  • Version 1 (loud): the original, louder mix.

Both archives were hosted on Dropbox by the author, linked from the original guide, so take the file from there.

Install

  1. Open Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published\. If the Published folder does not exist, create it.
  2. Copy everything from the zip into it, keeping the folder structure.
  3. Start the game. The author's last step is to have a snack as a reward for your work.

Uninstall

Delete the mod files from Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Published\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows\English(US). After that the game falls back to its stock Trader audio.

Notes

  • Because the files replace English (US) audio, the mod applies to that voice language only; see changing the voice language if you switch languages.
  • The original guide also embeds a video demonstration of the mod in action.
  • Audio mods are unofficial. Keep a copy of the original folder contents before experimenting, and remove the files if the game fails to start after a patch.
