KF2 Voice Mod: PAYDAY 2 Sydney for Ana Larive

This is a custom voice mod for Killing Floor 2 that replaces the in-game voice of Ana Larive with lines of Sydney, the Australian Anarchist heister from PAYDAY 2. It was made by a modder who built it with the Wwise tools, and the guide that describes it is a short manual plus the author's notes. The author warns that Sydney curses a lot and screams most of the time.

What the mod covers

More than 200 voice lines, assigned to nearly every action the character can voice:

  • The voice command panel: Request Healing, Follow Me, Thank You, Taunt ZEDs and so on.
  • Hit and kill confirmation reactions against ZEDs.
  • Reloading and welding interactions.
  • Idle lines (just spawned, cave, dark, cold or foggy areas) and lines before a wave starts, with replies to other characters.
  • Throwing dosh and getting hit by ZEDs.
  • Healing yourself or teammates (the Inspire skill lines).
  • Objective mode lines, in case Tripwire uses them in future updates.

The upside of working with the Wwise editor is that you can have many more lines than the usual four or fewer per action that Tripwire records.

Installation and removal

  1. Download the V1 package from the link given in the original guide. The zip contains a text file that you should read first.
  2. Paste the extracted Published folder into My Documents/My Games/KillingFloor2/KFGame.
  3. To uninstall, delete the WWise_Default AnaLarive.bnk file from that same folder.

Version info: V1 is the standard edition and the author expected it to be the final one.

Modder's notes

The author describes days of work: extracting voice lines one by one, learning how Wwise works, asking other modders (and a Tripwire staff member) for ready-to-use project files, and many hours of troubleshooting. They also noted that Tripwire removed most of the text files describing the game's sound files in December 2017, which is why few other voice mods appeared. The author could get past the usual 200-sound limit of the free Wwise licence by using a time-limited account and was racing to finish the remaining character before it expired. Voice mods for other PAYDAY heisters were planned, with the last slot still undecided between a heister and a trader replacement.
