KF2 Medic Guide: Weapons, Skill Builds and Dual Healing
The Medic heals teammates and backs up the squad, a critical role that shapes the whole match. This guide comes from a Medic main who reached level 18 Medic and had played over 500 rounds on Suicidal and Hell on Earth. Compare with the medic perk pages already on the site.
The author's level 18 Medic.
The role
A Medic can be played several ways depending on playstyle, but the key task never changes: heal teammates and keep everyone in one piece. Medics have stronger healing than other perks but low damage, so staying with the team during Zed hordes is the priority.
Weapons
First rounds. With low damage, buy a pistol such as the M1911 Pistol for 325 Dosh to handle the first waves.
M1911 Pistol: 50 damage, 8 rounds per magazine, semi-auto only.
Later. When you have money, take the HMTech-201 SMG, then sell it and move to the HMTech-301 Shotgun or HMTech-401 Assault Rifle. The author does not recommend the Hemogoblin, calling it a low-effect area weapon.

Skill builds
The Medic skill tree.
Battle medic (choice A)
- Symbiotic Health
- Combatant Doctor
- Focus Injection
- Battle Surgeon
- Zed Time: Airborne Agent
The author does not recommend the poison options (Zed Time: Zedative and Acidic Rounds): the slow effect and low damage mean small Zeds die before the poison works, while large Zeds need far more damage than poison deals. For a solo Medic, who expects more combat, Symbiotic Health (+25 HP) is always welcome, Combatant Doctor and Battle Surgeon raise perk weapon damage and magazine size, and Airborne Agent keeps the team healed during Zed time.
Guardian medic (choice B)
- Symbiotic Health
- Adrenaline Shot
- Focus Injection
- Coagulant Booster
- Zed Time: Airborne Agent
This build suits big teams of 10 or more, because the healing dose never runs out of ammo. On Hell on Earth you need considerably higher-level teammates for it. Adrenaline Shot gives 10% movement speed, Focus Injection increases damage by 5% per heal, and Coagulant Booster adds 10% damage resistance. Together the effect is strong, if you have a team to use it.
Dual healer trick
Each Medic gun counts its healing dose separately. If you carry a Medic pistol and an SMG at the same time, you can heal teammates twice just by switching guns, a useful trick on higher difficulties.
FAQ
- What should a KF2 Medic buy first?
- The guide suggests an M1911 Pistol (325 Dosh) for the first rounds, then an HMTech-201 SMG, and later the HMTech-301 Shotgun or HMTech-401 Assault Rifle.
- Can a Medic heal faster by carrying two healing weapons?
- Yes. Each Medic gun has its own healing dose, so carrying for example a Medic pistol and SMG lets you heal teammates twice by switching guns.
