KF2 Medic Etiquette on Suicidal: What Teammates Get Wrong
This is a Medic-side complaint turned into a guide, written by a Korean player who mostly plays Medic on Suicidal. It lists the habits that make a healer's life hard and what teammates can do instead. The tone is blunt, but the advice is practical for any team that wants its Medic to survive.
Why Medics get frustrated
On Suicidal, basic ZEDs charge as soon as they see a player. A Medic who gets surrounded loses a full armor bar and escapes at half health, so the healing a Medic provides is not a favor to be ignored.
Habits that hurt the team
- Wandering at the start of a match. The Medic's first job is to fill everyone's armor. Players who keep moving around, as if they could not stand still, make that impossible.
- Cutting the line. When teammates wait calmly for armor, some players squeeze in and take it out of turn. The Berserker should be armored first, and everyone else gets theirs when it is their turn.
- Standing next to the Berserker mid-match. When Scrakes and Fleshpounds arrive and the Berserker tanks at the front, the Medic alternates heal grenades and shots to keep the armor up. Support and Firebug players who hover right beside the Berserker to farm dart-style kills, or step in close to deal damage, break that rhythm. Deal damage, but keep a sensible distance so the Berserker's armor is not wasted. Without armor the difference is big, and the author estimates that on Hard and above such a situation ends the game roughly 70 percent of the time.
- Playing a level 1 character on Suicidal. The author questions why anyone would bring a level 1 perk to that difficulty, and then blame the Medic for not covering them when they die.
What a Medic can handle alone
- Against Floaters, Sirens and Gorefasts, a single Medic can usually cover the team and keep armor up, though it is hard. With good control, headshots knock the ZEDs back, so the loop is: headshot, knockback, armor the Berserker, repeat.
- In one match the author describes, on Suicidal with a Medic, a max-level Berserker, a mid-level Firebug and a low-level Berserker, everyone else went down with one Scrake and three Fleshpounds left. The Medic and the max-level Berserker finished the round: the Medic ran ahead of the Berserker, focused purely on healing and armor, and the Berserker fought with a hammer only, no special weapon.
The Medic is not an easy perk
Some players think a Medic simply stays behind, armors people and levels up easily. The author disagrees: a Medic has to make fast decisions, watch the Berserker all the time, kill enough to stay safe and still choose a position where it will not get surrounded. It is a hard job.
The guide ends with a wish for more perks to be patched and a cheer for Medics.
FAQ
- Who should a Medic armor first?
- The Berserker, who tanks in front. Other players should wait their turn instead of grabbing armor from the Medic's queue.
- Is the Medic an easy perk on Suicidal?
- The author says no: the Medic must constantly judge the situation, look after the Berserker, avoid being surrounded and still get kills.
