KF2 Cyst Guide - Behavior, Stats and How to Kill It
The Cyst is the weakest Zed in Killing Floor 2: essentially a Clot that did not spend enough time in the oven. It is the first of the three Clot variants and shows up in every wave, boss wave included. Alone it is harmless, but in a big group it can cause some commotion.
The Cyst, the weakest of the Clot variants.
Behavior
The Cyst acts like the Killing Floor 1 Clot. It shambles slowly toward the player and grabs when close. A successful grab turns the player's camera toward the Cyst and prevents looking away or moving until the Cyst is knocked off or killed. A missed grab makes it stumble, and it needs a few seconds to get back up.
- It can spawn from manholes, vents and windows, and sometimes falls flat on its face, leaving it helpless for a couple of seconds.
- On higher difficulties it may sprint, and the chance goes up once it is damaged. It always sprints when only five Zeds remain in the wave.
- It retaliates against friendly fire, but dies quickly to other Zeds.
Strategy
By itself the Cyst is almost no threat. The only real danger is a grab from behind while a horde is closing in, since the camera is yanked away. It cannot grab a Berserker. Its low health and speed mean it often dies before reaching anyone.
- Save ammo: use the pistol and aim for the head.
- Knife overhead slash to the head kills it and cuts it in half.
- A melee bash to the head also kills it in one hit.
- Like the other Clot variants, it has a 50% damage resistance to the Microwave Gun.
