KF2 Support Shotgun Jump and Scrake Jumping (Beta Videos)

In April 2015, during the Killing Floor 2 beta, two short community guides were published as pure video demonstrations. Both revolve around the same idea: the strong recoil of Support Specialist shotguns can throw the player around, and the trick can be used for movement and to handle dangerous ZEDs. The guides have almost no text, so this page collects the facts that were stated and points you to the fuller write-ups.

Hunting shotgun jump

The first guide, "Hunting shotgun jump", shows a Support jumping with the hunting shotgun. The comments are the real documentation: players noted that, as in the first Killing Floor, the weapon has massive recoil, and several hoped Tripwire would keep it in the game as part of the Support Specialist's toolkit. A reader also remembered playing Support on KF-Moonbase in the first game. Because the beta was an early build, always check that a trick still works in the current version.

Scrake jumping

The second guide, "Scrakejumping!", is a video tutorial on killing Scrakes the "easy mode" way in the Support Specialist style. Details were given only in the video. One commenter replied that it would be better to try it on Hell on Earth, a reminder that tricks that work on lower difficulties may fail on higher ones.

FAQ

What is a shotgun jump?
Firing a heavy-recoil shotgun, aimed down, so the recoil pushes the Support Specialist into the air or backwards. In the beta the hunting shotgun showed it clearly.
What is scrake jumping?
A Support Specialist technique in which the player uses a shotgun's recoil jump to avoid or handle Scrakes more easily, as shown in a video tutorial from April 2015.
