Account Management: NCsoft Master Account and Time Cards

Lineage 2 is not only a program you install on your computer (the game client) but also a service provided by the publisher. To play on the official servers you have to buy a license key. Below is the registration procedure as it worked in 2006.

Key and game time

A purchased license key comes with a free month of play. However, to get that month you need a 60-day time card. As a result you get 90 days of paid game time right away.

The official English-language game site was lineage2.com, where you could also download the game client.

Registering a master account and a game account

1. Create a master account on the NCsoft (PlayNC) site. It is free and takes only a few clicks. Later you can add game accounts for different NCsoft games to it: Auto Assault, Guild Wars, City of Heroes, Lineage, Lineage 2.
2. During registration you have to enter your details - name, date of birth, address and so on. Enter real information rather than made-up data: you have nothing to hide, and your real date of birth will be easy to remember later.
3. After registering, go to the master account management page on the NCsoft site, click the ADD GAMES link and enter the license key to activate the game.
4. After entering the key you will be offered to create a login and password for the game account that differ from the master account login and password. It is best to accept - hackers never sleep.
5. If everything was done correctly, the payment method page opens. At the very bottom choose Time-Card, and on the next page enter the time card serial number. This completes the game account registration, and within a few minutes you can start playing.
