Radiant Brooch and Jewels
The brooch, La Vie en Rose jewels and upgrading them
A brooch is an exclusive accessory that holds jewels granting passive skills. This article describes a promotion on the official Lineage II servers in early 2016: the new Radiant Brooch was sold in the L2 Store until March 9.
The brooch
- A brooch cannot be enchanted and can only be bought in the L2 Store.
- La Vie en Rose Brooches are sold only in boxes; once the box is opened, the brooch can no longer be sold.
- Radiant Brooch gives 5 jewel slots, +101 M.Def and +12 inventory slots. It cannot be traded or put up in a private store.
Jewels
There are 14 kinds of jewels in total that can be set into a brooch for passive skills - among them Topaz, Opal, Obsidian, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Aquamarine, Diamond, Pearl, Vital Stone, Garnet, Tanzanite and Cat's Eye. Each jewel has 5 levels. If you set two identical jewels into a brooch, only the effect of the higher-level one works.

Ruby and Sapphire have unique passive skills never seen before in Lineage II:
| Jewel | Effect | Visual effect |
|---|---|---|
| Ruby | increases Soulshot and Beast Soulshot damage | from level 3 the shot effect becomes stronger and changes color: blue (Lv3), yellow (Lv4), red (Lv5) |
| Sapphire | increases Spiritshot and Blessed Spiritshot damage | from level 3 the shot effect on magic skills becomes stronger and changes color: blue (Lv3), yellow (Lv4), red (Lv5) |
Where to get jewels
- Jewels come from La Vie en Rose Jewelry Boxes sold in the L2 Store; boxes and jewels can also be bought from or traded with other players.
- Only unopened jewel boxes or level 5 jewels can be sold.
- Jewel fragments are exchanged by Blacksmith Shaddai in Heine Village.

Upgrading jewels
Jewels of the same kind and level can be combined. On success you get a jewel of the next level; on failure one of the jewels is lost (elsewhere the source says both are lost).
