Trial of the Scholar - Mark of Scholar Quest

Trial of the Scholar rewards the Mark of Scholar, one of the three marks required for the second class transfer. The mage classes Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock, Spellsinger, Elemental Summoner, Spellhowler and Phantom Summoner need this mark. It is one of the longest mark quests - the route has 41 steps. Requirements

• Level: 35 (per the database); the route author recommends level 36.
• First profession: Human Wizard, Elven Wizard, Dark Wizard.
• Starting NPC: Magister Mirien in the Dion church.
• About 100,000 adena for teleports.
• Map: Map: World.
• 20 SoE just in case, and a supply of Blessed Spiritshots.

Walkthrough

Part 1: Crystal of Purity

1. Teleport to Dion. Find Magister Mirien in the church, talk to her and receive Mirien's Sigil1.
2. Find High Priest Sylvain in the church, talk to him and receive High Priest's Sigil1.
3. Find Maria in the magic shop, talk to her and receive Maria's Letter1.
4. Find Captain Lucas at the southern gate, talk to him and receive Lucas's Letter.
5. Talk to Maria in the magic shop and receive Marya's Letter2.
6. Run to Floran. Find Astrologer Creta at the northern gate, talk to her, choose and receive Creta's Letter1.
7. Run to Dion. Talk to Maria in the magic shop and receive Lucilla's Handbag.
8. Run to Floran. Talk to Astrologer Creta at the northern gate and receive Creta's Painting1.
9. Run to Dion. Talk to Maria in the magic shop and receive Creta's Painting2.
10. Talk to Captain Lucas at the southern gate and receive Creta's Painting3.
11. Teleport to Giran, then to Oren. West of the town, hunt Leto Lizardman Warriors until you collect 5 Brown Scroll Scrap.
12. Use SoE and teleport to Giran, then Dion. Talk to Maria in the magic shop and receive Crystal of Purity1.
13. Talk to High Priest Sylvain in the church and receive the Symbol of Sylvain.
14. Talk to Magister Mirien in the church and receive Mirien's Sigil2.

Part 2: Jurek's errands

15. Teleport to Giran. Find Grand Magister Jurek in the Magician Guild, talk to him and receive the Grand Magister's Sigil and Jurek's List.
16. North of the town, hunt Breka Orc Shamans until you get 5 Shaman's Necklace.
17. Run to the entrance of Dragon Valley. Hunt Shackles until you get 2 Shackle's Scalp.
18. Use SoE. South of the town, hunt Monster Eye Destroyers until you get 5 Monster Eye Destroyer Skin.
19. Use SoE. Talk to Grand Magister Jurek in the Magician Guild and receive the Symbol of Jurek.
20. Teleport to Dion. Talk to Magister Mirien in the church and receive Mirien's Sigil3.

Part 3: Scripture of Knowledge

21. Teleport to Giran, then to Hunter Village. Find Wiseman Cronos, talk to him (any dialogue options will do) and receive the Cronos Sigil and Cronos Letter.
22. Teleport to Giran. Find Magister Dieter in the Magician Guild, talk to him and receive Dieter's Key.
23. Teleport to Dion and run to Floran. Talk to Astrologer Creta at the northern gate and receive Creta's Letter2.
24. Run to Dion and teleport to Giran. Talk to Magister Dieter in the Magician Guild and receive Dieter's Letter and Dieter's Diary.
25. Use SoE and teleport to Hunter Village. Find Trader Edroc in the weapon shop, talk to him and receive Raut's Letter Envelope.
26. Teleport along Giran - Dion - Gludio - Gludin. Find Warehouse Keeper Raut in the warehouse, talk to him and receive Scripture Chapter 1 and Strong Liquor.
27. Find Drunkard Triff at the docks, talk to him and receive Treaf's Ring.
28. Teleport along Gludio - Dion - Giran. Find Warehouse Keeper Valkon in the warehouse, talk to him and receive Valkon's Request.
29. Teleport to Dion. Talk to Maria in the magic shop and receive Crystal of Purity2.
30. Teleport to Giran, then to Hardin Academy. In the north-east, hunt Grandis until you get Scripture Chapter 3.
31. Use SoE. Talk to Warehouse Keeper Valkon in the warehouse and receive Scripture Chapter 2.
32. Teleport to Dion. Find Blacksmith Poitan in the smithy, talk to him and receive Poitan's Notes.
33. Run to the Wasteland. Find Wiseman Casian, talk to him and receive Kasian's List.
34. Use SoE, teleport to Dion and run to the Execution Grounds. Hunt Ghouls until you collect 10 Ghoul's Skin.
35. Run to Giran. North-east of the town, hunt Medusas until you collect 12 Medusa's Blood.
36. Use SoE and teleport to Hardin Academy. In the north-west, hunt Fettered Souls until you collect 5 Fettered Soul's Ichor.
37. Use SoE, teleport to Hunter Village, then to the Ivory Tower and run down into the crater below the tower. Hunt Enchanted Gargoyles until you collect 5 Enchanted Gargoyle Nail.
38. Use SoE and teleport to Giran, then Dion, and run to the Wasteland. Talk to Wiseman Casian and receive Scripture Chapter 4.
39. Use SoE and teleport to Dion, then Giran. Talk to Magister Dieter in the Magician Guild.
40. Teleport to Hunter Village. Talk to Wiseman Cronos and receive the Symbol of Cronos.
41. Teleport to Giran, then Dion. Talk to Magister Mirien in the church and receive the Mark of Scholar.

According to the database, Breka Orc Shamans live in Breka's Stronghold, Shackles in Dragon Valley and the Crater of Ivory Tower, and Monster Eye Destroyers in the Wasteland and on the Plains of Dion. Grandis and Fettered Souls are found in Death Pass, Medusas in Gorgon's Flower Garden.
