Killing Floor 1 Maps: Every Official Map and a Community Map Gallery
Killing Floor launched on Steam on May 14, 2009 with five maps: four remade from the original Unreal Tournament 2004 mod, plus Farm, a recreation of a map from Tripwire's own Red Orchestra. Later maps arrived in free updates and seasonal events, and a good share of them were community maps picked from the Grindhouse mapping competition and given the "Tripwire Treatment" before release.
All official maps can be played in Survival. Three of them also have a separate Objective Mode version with a KFO- prefix instead of KF-. One more map, Devil's Dollhouse, only exists in the Toy Master add-on.
The thumbnails on this page are in-game screenshots from the old killingfloor.net server monitor, shown at their native 220x140 size. For downloads of more than a thousand custom maps, see the community maps catalog.

Map sizes are not listed: no source we could check gives comparable numbers for them, and we would rather leave the column out than guess.
Launch maps (May 2009)
Biotics Lab
![]()
- Setting: Horzine's laboratory under London, the site of the original outbreak. The official description has the incubators deep in the facility still producing clones.

- Achievements: Long-game wins from Lab Cleaner (Normal) to Scientist from Hell (Hell on Earth).
Farm
![]()
- Setting: an evacuated countryside farm the specimens have spread to.

- History: a mod map remade for retail.
- Achievements: The Boss, Hard Boss, Mad Boss and Boss from Hell.
West London
![]()
- Setting: a quarantined quadrant in the west end of London, close to Horzine's offices, so it sits at ground zero of the outbreak.

- Achievements: Pub Crawl, Hard Pub Crawl, Suicidal Pub Crawl and Hellish Pub Crawl.
2009 updates
Foundry (Heavy Metal)
![]()

- Achievements: Squirrel, Raccoon, Bear and Wolf King of the Dark Forest.
Waterworks (Level Up)
![]()
- Setting: an old pumping station on the coast, reached by soldiers retreating from a burning London.
- Notes: the first community map made official; it won first place in wave 1 of the Grindhouse competition. Despite being released with Bedlam and Wyre, it does not count as a Summer map.
- Achievements: Slight Drip, Burst Pipe, Pressure Failure and Floodgate to Hell.
Snowstorm maps (December 2009)
The Snowstorm update added four Grindhouse competition winners at once.
![]()
- Crash: a run-down suburban storage yard, K&M Shipping Inc., where your backup helicopter went down. Third place in Grindhouse wave 2; K&M is named after the authors Kyben and Maul.
![]()
- Departed: an industrial area where the squad's helicopter made an emergency landing on a helipad; intel says there should be a train. Second place in Grindhouse wave 2.
![]()
- Filth's Cross: subway stations that once served as a refuge. Second place in Grindhouse wave 1. Unusually, every trader spot has its own trader model (texture swaps of the default Trader).
![]()
- Icebreaker: a nuclear icebreaker housing the Advanced Genetics laboratory, a Horzine rival. Won the $10,000 first prize in Grindhouse wave 2.
2010 updates

Moon Base (Twisted Christmas 2012)
![]()

![]()
- Hell: you wake up in a burning, unfamiliar landscape. Achievements Death, King Minos, Cerberus and Lucifer. The author later co-made a winter variant, Hell Freezes Over, which stayed a custom map.
2014 updates
End of the Line (July 2014)
![]()
- Siren's Belch: an automated brewery tower in the snowy English countryside. Collectible: beer steins (Oktoberfest Master). Achievements Home Brewer through Trappist Monk.

- Achievements: Cave of Wonder, Cavern of Pain, Grotto of Terror and Hollow of Horror.
Devil's Dollhouse (Toy Master)
![]()
- Setting: a creepy bedroom and the surreal puppet theatre inside its dollhouse.
- Notes: the only map of the free Toy Master add-on. It runs only in the Toy Master mode and only at Short length: four waves of evil toys trying to break open a chest, then a fight against Jack. It cannot be played in normal Survival.
- Toy Master on a dedicated server (killingfloor.ru forum, "Toy Master" thread): the mod files it adds to the client folder can be put on a clean server. The map is not picked up automatically because
KFCharPuppets.TOYMapListlists a non-existent map,Maps(0)="TOY-Playhouse"; fix it inKillingFloor.ini:
[KFCharPuppets.TOYMapList]
MapNum=0
Maps=TOY-DevilsDollhouse
The Toy Master mode is a game type inherited from Objective, so on regular KF- maps there will be no chests and no "kill Jack" objective. The Workshop mutator ToyMaster Replacer simply swaps normal zeds for dolls and requires Toy Master to be installed. The mod includes 3 karma files (the dolls' bodies after death); without a mutator like MusicLoader that pushes karma to clients, doll bodies freeze for players without the mod until the corpses disappear. Make sure all resource files are downloaded into the cache; if one is not, add it in any mutator with AddToPackageMap("PackageName");.
Community maps gallery
The server monitor also captured screenshots of hundreds of custom maps. Below are the ones we could tie to a real map: names and links come from the community maps catalog (KFMapDB, GameBanana and file mirrors) or, where the catalog has nothing, from the Steam Workshop. "By" is the author named by the catalog; "uploaded by" is the Workshop uploader, which is not always the original author. Server-only edits (Christmas variants, renamed copies, Lineage 2 / Counter-Strike conversions made for that server) are left out because we could not trace them to a source.
