KF2 Cranium Cracker Weekly: Safe Solo Guide

A short guide on making the Cranium Cracker weekly easy when played solo. The advice is for the Hard difficulty the weekly uses, and aims at safe weapons, not the fastest possible clear. It is not the absolute best way; a godlike Gunslinger will outclass a Commando or SWAT, but this is safe and simple.

General waves

Two perks stand out.

  • SWAT. Flashbangs stun and clear high-value targets such as Fleshpounds and Scrakes, and SMGs are good against most trash.
  • Commando. A safe choice thanks to the Stoner (and stumble power if you have it). The weekly is only Hard, so incoming damage is not a big problem, and the Stoner's roughly 600 bullets make up for its modest damage, clearing nearly anything safely.

You could pick SWAT for flashbangs and buy the Stoner for trash, but the author never tried it because Commando alone was enough.

The boss

The boss fight depends on luck: you may get a two-hit fight, or it may turn out harder than with the usual weapons.

  • Patriarch. The Berserker's Eviscerator is a two-hit kill: damage is just over half his health, so he does not enter the heal state. Click twice with the Eviscerator aiming at the head.
  • Hans. Easier to fight normally. Do not waste ammo on the shield phase, since it leaves less for headshots. Play safe and clear ZEDs when needed. All bosses have 25% less health in this weekly, so Commando or SWAT weapons are enough.

Summary

The weekly is not hard. Its guide is mostly about safe weapons and the Eviscerator's strength against the boss, if luck gives you the Patriarch. The weekly is generally easier solo. See also weekly outbreak modes.

FAQ

Which perks are safest for the Cranium Cracker weekly solo?
Commando and SWAT. SWAT flashbangs and SMGs clear trash and stun large ZEDs, while Commando with the Stoner is a safe, high-ammo option.
How do I kill the Patriarch fast in this weekly?
With a Berserker Eviscerator: two headshot hits can kill him, since the damage is just over half his health and does not send him into his heal state.
