KF2: How to Level Up Perks Quickly on Hell on Earth Servers

Reaching level 25 on every perk is a long road for anyone chasing all achievements. This community guide proposes a quick-and-dirty way to speed it up: farm XP where the most Zeds spawn.

Step 1: find a Hell on Earth server

Hell on Earth (HoE) spawns more Zeds than lower difficulties, and the more Zeds you face, the more experience you can earn. Look for a server that is actually playable at that difficulty.

Step 2: pick a big server

Choose a server with 20 or 40 player slots. A smaller server makes XP grinding a waste of time, because Zed counts scale with the number of players. As a rule of thumb, if at least 10 people are already inside, join: more usually follow.

Step 3: general tactics for every perk

• Stay in a group. Your group protects you, and you protect it.
• Carry lots of ammo. HoE servers throw many Zeds at you, and running out of ammo costs XP. Buy as many weapons for your perk as you can. Support is a big help to the rest of the team on such servers.
• Keep grenades. They matter less than ammo but can add easy XP. When a Scrake or Fleshpound pushes into your group you will be shoved back; wait a few seconds, then throw grenades over the heads of the Zeds toward where they came from. Medics and Berserkers should save their grenades for those big Zeds or for healing.
• Shoot everything. Hit every Zed at least once, especially the big ones. Even without the kill you get shared XP from assists.
• Stay alive. Survive until the end of each wave. Medics are responsible for the team, and without them the group will not last. Boss XP shortens the grind considerably.
• Be a good sport. Avoid shouting into the mic, which can distract everyone or get you kicked, and help teammates in trouble when you can do it without dying yourself.
