KF2 Unofficial Traditional Chinese Localization Fix
This page translates a Chinese-language Steam guide from a Taiwanese community author. It distributes an unofficial Traditional Chinese text fix for Killing Floor 2, last updated in March 2026 according to the guide.

Download and install
To use the fix, set the game language to "Traditional Chinese". Files are copied over the game's main program folder.
- Main file: a Google Drive download that localizes the game itself.
- Optional file: a Google Drive download that localizes the server-hosting documents.
Known issues and notes
- With the translation active, searching the Steam Market by translated names can return nothing. The only fix is to restore all item names in
ItemDefinitions.chtto English. - Some tooltips on the map Elysium are not translated.
- Terminology follows the translations published by a Taiwanese community writer (a general KF2 intro/beginner guide, the official Traditional Chinese preview and the update logs on Gamer).
- Because accumulated updates were large, text comparison may have missed some lines; the author asks for reports in the comments.

Update history (summary)
The patch has been maintained since February 2016: skill text fixes, per-patch updates (builds 1027 to 1068 through 2018), beta content for seasonal events (spring, Halloween, Christmas), fixes for the Discord garbled-text issue (January 2018) and trader strings. After a gap, a major update ran from September 2025 to January 2026: all past content refreshed, remaining translation completed, then Medic, settings, weapon and map name fixes.
FAQ
- How do I use the Traditional Chinese fix?
- Set the game language to Traditional Chinese, then copy the downloaded files over the main game folder.
- What is the known downside?
- Translated item names can make Steam Market searches by the original names fail; restoring English names in ItemDefinitions.cht fixes that.
