KF2 Medic on Hell on Earth: Door Nade Trick and Boss Tips

A Field Medic guide for early-access Hell on Earth by a level 22 player. Treat the numbers as the author's own early-access observations; for a modern route see the Field Medic HoE guide.

Playing the Medic on HoE

Healing allies is your job, but on HoE the medic also kills with grenades:

  • Run around the map and gather the zeds into a large group.
  • Throw a healing grenade at the edge of a door, run in and close it. The author reports over 93% of zeds die in seconds, depending on how long they stay in the smoke.
  • Keep looking for ammo packs: each gives +1 grenade, and grenades are basically your main killing tool.
  • Between door tricks, sprint backward and aim for the head to finish waves faster.

Perk picks

  • Level 5, Healing Surge: +20% health.
  • Level 10, Combatant: free starting body armor and a 60% armor discount. Very important because dosh is slow and used fast on HoE.
  • Level 15, Regeneration: slow health regeneration through nanobots. Slightly underbuffed: the first hit is negated by about 2 damage, then roughly 2 health every few seconds.
  • Level 20, Vaccination: your healing grants teammates extra max armor and temporary bloat bile resistance. Grenades restore much armor; the alt heal adds about 7 armor per use. Save grenades for when they are really needed.
  • Level 25: up to you.

Heavy zeds

  • Scrake: when he swings, step left then backward so he spins and attacks the air to your left, missing every attack. Do this inside your healing gas.
  • Fleshpound: kite him around an object; when he swings forward, move to the next edge of the object. Not guaranteed, but it works almost every time.

Hans

The author calls this the very hard boss: expect hours or days of attempts.

  • Always break line of sight with his bullets, which hit hard (about 29 HP per bullet through armor in the author's tests). Run around corners as soon as possible.
  • Your main damage is healing grenades, which poison him. Reportedly this takes about an hour per health stage, and the last stage is longer.
  • It takes him about 1.9 seconds to open a closed door. After running through a door, close it: this is crucial.
