KF2 Support Perk Guide (Early Build)

A short Russian guide to the Support perk, translated. The author warns that updates made it outdated, so it is a snapshot of the early game. Current material: Support basic roles and AA-12 and the Support perk page.

Support The Support perk.

Role

Support is a very strong class alone and in a team, and fairly self-sufficient: close to the squad's main gunsmith. A specialist in shotguns and close to mid range. Stand at the front right behind the Berserker.

Cons:

  • slow movement;
  • low ammo;
  • you can kill yourself with your own grenade;
  • short aimed range;
  • long reloads compared with other classes.

Pros:

  • does not need high accuracy;
  • welds and unwelds doors fastest;
  • health +50% or regeneration;
  • more damage and penetration for all weapons;
  • can carry more weapon weight than any other class.

Ammo / Suppliertotal and starting ammo +20%give every teammate an ammo box once per waveSolo: left; team: right. The right can save a team with no ammo nearby. You can also throw an empty weapon to a teammate who has not taken ammo from you; they refill and return it (agree in advance)
Fortitude / Regenerationhealth +50%regenerates 4 HP per 4 secondsRight: when retreating you do not lose time healing, which is why many die; you can spend your syringe on a teammate who needs it more
Bombard / Tactical Reload60% chance to stunreload about 30% fasterRight: Support weapons are strong enough to kill instead of stun
Strength / Tenacitycarry weight +5class weapon damage +10%Solo: right; team: left. A spare weapon (yours or a teammate's) can save the team, for example swapping a full and an empty weapon with a Demolitionist who ran out of C4 (agree beforehand)

Weapons

Weapons alternate by level: skip the odd, take the even.

  • SG 500 Pump-Action: level 1, weak like most starting weapons; useful with the reload talent; reload before the magazine hits zero.
  • Double-barrel Boomstick: level 2, one of the best weapons in the game. It costs 650 and can be bought at the start of wave 2; a headshot kills everything except Fleshpounds, Scrakes and bosses; no other class weapon deals as much damage in a single volley; one shot can drop 3 to 5 small Zeds in a line; the alt-fire double blast pushes you off enemies and lets you jump to hard-to-reach places; its only flaw is frequent reloads.
  • M4 Combat Shotgun: level 3, an improved level 1 weapon that is not worth its cost or weight except with the reload talent.
  • AA-12 Auto Shotgun: level 4, heavy artillery; best against large Zeds and big crowds; single and burst fire; two flaws: weight of 10 and the highest price in the game, 1700.

Tactics

You are Support, so your main job is supporting the team. Hand out ammo, cover crowds with grenades and shot, carry extra weapons and weld doors. Stay at the front or slightly behind.
