KF2 Hell on Earth: Team Roles and Positioning (Thai Guide)

This guide was written in Thai by a Medic main who was not sure anyone still plays the mode but wanted to share a plan for Hell on Earth. It focuses on who stands where. For other compositions see team compositions for HoE.

Example team layout from the guide The layout used in the guide.

  1. Medic. One or two, but one is enough.
  2. Commando. Useful skills; carry a Medic weapon too so you can help heal when the Medic cannot reach someone. A Survivalist can replace the Commando thanks to the wide choice of skills.
  3. Demolitionist or Firebug. Either one gives area damage for thin Zeds; the Demolitionist shoots from further away.
  4. Berserker. The team tank. The author mentions using the weapon with a shield.
  5. Sharpshooter. For big Zeds; a headshot can kill one outright. At level 25, a headshot during Zed time has a 5% chance to trigger Zed time again. A Gunslinger can replace the Sharpshooter.

How to play it

  • Berserker in front, the rest behind. If your spot has two entrances the horde usually pushes mostly through one. Put the Berserker there and one player on the other side. The Berserker must never retreat or the formation breaks; if knocked back, return to the position immediately.
  • Medic mostly heals. Shoot only when enemies are close. Heal the Berserker and whoever guards the other entrance. Do not look away from the Berserker for more than about 3 seconds, since he takes damage almost constantly.
  • Do not rely on the healing grenade for low-health teammates, because the throw is too slow and the target may die first. Wait for Zed time to turn to the others, or use the Zed time skill Airborne Agent, which releases healing gas around you like a healing grenade. Stay near the Medic.
  • Bind the heal-fire key to a button other than the middle mouse button; the middle button is awkward and tiring for the finger.

The rest of the team just shoots; the author, a Medic, says he cannot give more advice on those perks and invites others to add theirs. Adapt the plan to your own playstyle.
