KF2 Boomstick Double Jump: Reach High Ground
In Killing Floor 2 every player can normally only jump once at a time. There is a trick that works like a second jump: it takes you onto ledges and props that regular jumping cannot reach, and ZEDs cannot follow you there. This guide describes that technique in short.
What you need
Equip a Boomstick. Its alternate fire, bound to the middle mouse button by default, performs a boosted kick, and that kick is the source of the extra height.
Prepare the Boomstick first.
The jump
- Hold the Boomstick.
- Jump.
- While in the air, use the alt fire (middle mouse) pointing at the ground.
The boosted kick pushes you upward, so you land on higher ground than a normal jump allows. From there you can reach spots the ZEDs cannot get to.
Jump, then alt fire at the ground to gain extra height.
Tips
- Practise the timing in a quiet spot before relying on it in a wave.
- Look for map locations where a ledge is just above normal jump height. The same idea is used for map-specific jump spots, for example in Polar Distress boomstick jumps.
- Staying out of reach is a defensive trick, not a way to win a wave. Your team still has to deal with the ZEDs.
FAQ
- Can you double jump in Killing Floor 2?
- Not normally, since every player can only jump once at a time. The trick is to jump and then fire the Boomstick alt fire at the ground, which gives a boosted kick and lifts you higher.
- Which weapon do I need for the double jump?
- The Boomstick, the double barrel shotgun. Its alternate fire (middle mouse button by default) is what provides the boost.
- Why use the double jump at all?
- It lets you stand on high ground that ZEDs cannot reach, which is a safe place to hold out.
