Third Profession: Succession to the Legend Quests
Overview of the 3rd class transfer quests (level 76)
The third profession is the final class transfer in Lineage 2. Every second-profession class has its own quest from the Succession to the Legend series, but all 31 quests follow the same pattern: the character goes on a pilgrimage to six ancient Tablets of Vision and uses Stones of Commune to absorb the knowledge of the gods sealed in them. The data reflects the Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny knowledge base.
Requirements
- A second profession (for example, Paladin for Phoenix Knight, Warsmith for Maestro).
- The class can only be changed at level 76. The quest itself can be done earlier: if you are below level 76 after the sixth tablet, the NPC tells you to train, and the class changes when you come back at level 76.
- Do not abandon the quest until the class transfer is complete.
Common quest structure
The story, NPCs and bosses depend on the class, but the stages are the same for everyone:
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | The start NPC (the class master) sends you to another NPC, usually in Goddard Castle Town. |
| 2-4 | An errand that needs ice crystals from the hot springs area of Goddard: you get them by doing what Chef Jeremy asks. A cook (Master Chef Donath, Chef Duncan and others) uses them to prepare a dish, or an NPC makes the required item; sometimes you also need a fat, white fish (from a fisherman with a skill level of 23-25) or top-grade meat from the Beast Pastureland. The item goes back to the NPC from stage 1. |
| 5 | First communion: take the Stone of Commune you received to the first Tablet of Vision, just south of the Tower of Insolence. |
| 6 | The Guardians of Forbidden Knowledge near the second tablet have the second Stone of Commune - kill them and take it. |
| 7 | Commune with the second tablet. |
| 8 | Someone near the third tablet has the third stone: for many classes it is a personal boss, for dagger classes and archers it is Ezekiel, for mages a "suspicious shadow". |
| 9 | Commune with the third tablet. |
| 10 | The fourth stone is held by a specific NPC (a master, a hermit, a Pilgrim of Darkness and so on). |
| 11 or 12 | To get the fourth stone you need the Divine Stone of Wisdom. You can get it from the Ketra Orcs (Ketra's Messenger Wahkan) or from the Varka Silenos (Varka's Messenger Naran Ashanuk) - gaining the trust of one side is enough. |
| 13 | Commune with the fourth tablet. |
| 14 | An NPC tells you where the fifth stone is. |
| 15 | The fifth Stone of Commune is held by the Archon of Halisha. Lure him out by killing his minions in the Shrine of the Loyal (northeastern part of the Wall of Argos) - the archon appears after you collect 700 marks of Halisha - or attack him in the Four Sepulchers inside the Imperial Tomb (better not alone). At the fork, the east road leads to the Imperial Tomb and the north road to the Shrine of the Loyal. |
| 16 | Commune with the fifth tablet in the northwestern corner of the Wall of Argos. |
| 17 | The final opponent (a fallen angel, a devil and so on) waits by the sixth tablet; after the fight you get the last stone. |
| 18 | Commune with the sixth tablet. |
| 19 | Return to the start NPC and change your class. |
| 20 | If you are below level 76, train to 76 and return to the start NPC. |
Monsters in the Shrine of the Loyal for stage 15: Grave Scarab, Scavenger Scarab, Grave Ant, Scavenger Ant, Shrine Knight, Shrine Guard and the Archon of Halisha himself; in the Imperial Tomb, only the Archon of Halisha.

Differences between groups
- Knights (Phoenix Knight, Eva's Templar), the singer Sword Muse, and Duelist, Dreadnought, Titan, Grand Khavatari, Dominator and Doomcryer fight personal bosses at the third and sixth tablets, each with a story of downfall and obsession.
- Dagger classes (Adventurer, Wind Rider, Ghost Hunter) and archers (Sagittarius, Moonlight Sentinel, Ghost Sentinel) take the third stone from Ezekiel, find the fourth and fifth through a mysterious Hermit or a Pilgrim of Darkness, and meet the guardian Azrael at the sixth tablet.
- Mages (Archmage, Mystic Muse, Storm Screamer), as well as Soultaker and Hell Knight, follow "suspicious shadows" at the tablets; Soultaker and Hell Knight track Hindemith and Waldstein along the way.
- Healers (Cardinal, Hierophant, Eva's Saint, Shillien Saint) check whether the Saint of Light Agnes is genuine and finally defeat the fallen angel Tanakia; Shillien Templar and Spectral Dancer follow a similar path.
- Summoners (Arcana Lord, Elemental Master, Spectral Master) and Dwarves (Maestro, Fortune Seeker) go through the quest with a shared set of tablet errands.
