KF2 Custom Text Binds, Dosh Toss Bind and Mouse Acceleration Fix
Three short Steam guides in one page: binding chat messages and console commands to keys, tossing a set amount of dosh with one key, and a quick fix for mouse acceleration. All use the in-game console and a few config edits. See also console cheat codes and the FPS cap removal.
Custom text binds
Tired of typing "Scrake incoming" in chat? Bind it to a key. The console is opened with F3 in the original guide (the tilde key is the usual default; use whichever opens it for you).
- Start any map in singleplayer.
- After the first wave starts, open the console and enter
enableCheats | playersonly. This freezes the game so you can work calmly. - Bind a message with the syntax
setBind <key> say <text>, for example:
setBind K say "Scrake Here!!!"
- Press K to test it. You can bind any text or command to any key.
Add a voice shout
Combine commands with the pipe character:
setBind K "say Scrake here! | playVoiceCommsDialog 2"
You will not hear the voice until you toggle playersOnly off in the console. Other commands you can bind include suicide, ToggleHUD, ShowHUD, Fov, stat fps, ThrowWeapon, ExitPlay and SoundWave. For example, a key that drops 200 dosh at once:
setBind B "TossMoney|TossMoney|TossMoney|TossMoney"
Restoring lost binds
If binds are wiped by an update, open C:\Users\<you>\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config\KFInput.ini, go to the bottom of the file and replace the three lines of the [IniVersion] block with these:
[IniVersion]
0=1582132714.000000
1=1604618150.000000
2=1594219206.000000
Always back up your config files first.
Toss any amount of dosh with one key
Each tossmoney drops 50 dosh. Pick an unused key (the guide uses N), open the console and bind several commands separated by a vertical bar:
setbind n "tossmoney | tossmoney"
This drops 100 dosh per press. Three commands drop 150, four drop 200, ten drop 500, and so on.
Quick mouse acceleration fix
A very short note with a few settings:
- Enable Variable Framerate to unlock the 62 FPS cap.
- In
Engine\Config\BaseInput.inisetbEnableMouseSmoothing=false. - In
KFGame\Config\DefaultInput.inisetbViewAccelerationEnabled=FalseandbDebugViewAcceleration=FALSE. - The author also prefers
ZoomedSensitivityScalar=0.70.
