KF2: Remove the Russian Voice-Over by Swapping Two Folders

Some Russian-speaking players dislike the Russian voice acting in Killing Floor 2 but want to keep the Russian interface. This short guide, written in Russian, shows the fastest way: swap two folders. Other guides cover the same idea in more detail, such as keeping English text while changing voices and the English voice-over on a Russian client.

Steps

  1. Open the game folder. The quick way: in the Steam library right-click Killing Floor 2, choose Properties, Local Files, then Browse Local Files.
  2. Go to killingfloor2\KFGame\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows.
  3. Rename the folder English(US) to Russian, and the folder Russian to English(US). Use a temporary name for the first rename because both names cannot exist at once.
  4. Start the game; the voices are now English while the interface stays Russian.

Alternatives from the comments

  • Switch the whole game language to English.
  • Set the voice slider in the sound settings to zero, which removes the chatter completely.
  • Some players simply choose another language, such as Japanese, for the voices.

Commenters disliked in particular the trader's repeated Russian lines and the translation quality, which is the usual reason people want this change. A game update or a file verification in Steam can restore the original folder names, so repeat the swap if the Russian voices return.
