KF2 KF1 Sound Mod 2.2: Classic KF1 Weapon and Menu Sounds

The KF1 Sound Mod is a sound pack, not a voice mod. It replaces the weapon and extra sounds in Killing Floor 2 with the ones from Killing Floor 1, so fans of the original can hear the familiar guns again. This page summarizes what it changes, how to install it and what to expect. For a music-oriented take see the KF1 soundtrack mod and the KF1 music pack install guide.

Installation

  1. Download the pack from the mod page (the original guide links to a file host).
  2. Open the folder inside the archive.
  3. Go to Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\published\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows. If the folder does not exist, create it.
  4. Extract all files there.

To uninstall, delete the files you copied (all or only the ones you do not like).

Known issues

  • Some reload sounds are the same on several weapons, because Tripwire reuses one reload sound across weapons.
  • The third-person sound of the Deagles actually uses the lever-action rifle sound.
  • Some weapons share deploy and undeploy sounds.
  • Headshot sounds and other effects are stored in the WW_ZED_Bloat and WW_ZED_Abomination banks.
