KF2 Demolitionist Destroyer of Worlds Build Guide

The Destroyer build is the author's favourite Demolitionist setup for both team and solo play. It asks you to stay mobile and keeps your damage high. The author also published a video that goes deeper.

Level 5: Bombardier

Bombardier adds 25% damage with the perk's explosive weapons. With the HX25 Grenade Pistol, crowd control is no problem, and the author keeps that pistol all game. Focusing on damage rather than reload speed makes the pistol strong against mid-range ZEDs. The choice does affect the reload speed of the Seeker Six, and the M79 Grenade Launcher gets a significant boost, although you will not become a grenade-launching machine with it.

Level 10: High Impact Rounds

High Impact Rounds pair well with hard-hitting weapons. Splash damage from hitting a Bloat or a Gorefast can wipe out a group of trash ZEDs, destroying most of them thanks to the high damage.

Level 15: Sonic Resistant Rounds

Sonic Resistant Rounds is the most sensible pick for this tier. It makes the Demolitionist the one player who can still clear a large group of ZEDs with grenades when a Siren is present. The author says the 30% damage reduction on Fragmentation Rounds does not fit the build.

Level 20: Armor Piercing Rounds

Armor Piercing Rounds takes some getting used to. With a 50% damage increase to critical zones, you can easily decapitate Bloats with a Seeker Six. The RPG-7 with a critical hit can kill a Fleshpound in one or two hits, and the skill adds to damage against Scrakes too. It is a boss-killing skill for players who are good at landing critical hits, and it takes practice.

Level 25: Destroyer of Worlds

Destroyer of Worlds is the capstone. The author treats it as a melee weapon: it puts out a lot of radiation damage that crushes the hordes around you. During Zed Time with a Seeker Six, the author has seen as many as six explosions on Hell on Earth, wiping out an incoming horde. Firing different explosive weapons may even chain several explosions.

What the comments say

The comment section is lively and shows how divided players are about this build.

  • A defender notes hidden effects of Destroyer of Worlds: during Zed Time it prevents self damage, increases the explosion area by 35%, removes the C4 buff that ZEDs get for 3 seconds and increases all explosive damage by 50%. That, not the trash killing, is the real reason to take it.
  • Critics argue that the radiation cloud only reliably kills Clots and Crawlers, makes other ZEDs wander off in different directions, and clutters the screen for teammates trying to shoot.
  • One commenter compares the numbers: radiation does 30 damage every 0.5 seconds, while a Medic grenade cloud does 60 every 0.5 seconds. Another suggests firing two RPG shots with Mad Bomber instead.
  • Another player asks how Fragmentation Rounds look now that the 30% damage reduction is gone.
