KF2 How to Play Kureo Mado: Zweihander Berserker Roleplay
The author admits this guide is outdated, but the idea still works: play a controlled maniac swordsman inspired by Kureo Mado from the anime Tokyo Ghoul, chopping Zeds with a big blade instead of smashing them with the Pulverizer. For a Berserker from a serious angle see the Berserker build; for another sword roleplay see How to play Zorro.
Reverend Alberts dressed in white, the suggested character.
Character
Reverend Alberts is the suggested pick for three reasons: his old age and white hair, the ability to make his clothes white, and his bitter desire for revenge on the Zeds. If you own the Motorcycle Tanaka skin you can recolor it white too, which gives white gloves in first person. The character is not a requirement, only a way to get into the mindset.
Perk and weapons
Berserker, of course: fast in Zed time at level 25, plenty of health and durability.
- Zweihander: the main weapon thanks to its reach; the author compares it to Kureo's quinques.
- Katana: weaker and off-perk, but usable until the Zweihander is affordable.
- Eviscerator: a fun alternative if you lack the Zweihander.
- Pulverizer: excellent but it removes the danger of mistakes, so the guide leaves it out on purpose.

Tips and tricks
- Speed is the key: sell the Crovel and Katana at the first chance and use only the Zweihander if possible.
- Use stun grenades; an immobile target is the best target.
- Use the V key (quick melee) on lone trash Zeds such as the Cyst instead of wasting time on stylish kills.
- Taunt the Zeds for fun and avoid fights you know you cannot win, but do not back down when you can still win.
- Parry, parry and parry again.
- Watch for Crawlers: a group blocking your path can end a clutch situation.
- Listening to Tokyo Ghoul or Deadman Wonderland music sets the mood.
- Stay calm if multiple Sirens and a Bloat team up; do not panic with jumps and mouse flicks.
Even a group like this can be killed with smart movement and good swings.
Perks and skills
- Bloat over Siren resistance: Bloats strip armor, which matters for this playstyle, while a Siren can be killed with a couple of head slashes and healed with a syringe afterwards.
- Fortitude over Vampire: the extra health gives you more time to slash a Scrake before backing off.
- Block over Furious Defender: Block helps stagger Scrakes, then you hit them with the extra 50 percent damage.
- Parry at level 20: the more you parry the faster and stronger your attacks become for a short time.
- Level 25: Zed Time - Spartan lets you slice anything around you, or pick Menace if that suits you better.

Conclusion
Stay calm and enjoy it. Limiting yourself to the Zweihander, Katana or Eviscerator is a fun change if you are tired of smashing everything with the Pulverizer.
