KF2 Versus Survival: Ultra Slasher Player Zed Guide

Written by a Versus Survival player in a humorous, wiki-article style, this page covers the playable version of the Slasher in Killing Floor 2. Overview

The Ultra Slasher (also Player Slasher or Alpha Slasher) is a playable Zed in the Versus Survival mode and works against the human squad. As a lower-tier Zed it can spawn commonly from the first wave onward. Because it spawns as part of the "Clot" group, the player taking it often replaces an existing Slasher.

The author compares jumps: a human high jumper clears 2.45 meters and a mountain lion about 5.5, while the Ultra Slasher "can jump between solar systems".

The Slasher's jump is its best tool.

Its strong legs let it go over map bugs and ambush humans in unexpected places. It can catch up with fleeing Medics and Berserkers, then jump over them to cut them off. The jump has a cooldown. It may be better to walk instead of run, since the Ultra Slasher has low health and makes more noise when running.

Tactics

On the Zed team

• When you spawn, do not show yourself until you have an advantage to attack the humans.
• Its damage is not high, but running attacks contain multiple fast swipes that splash and can drain several cornered targets.
• Roll at people holding guns. Hold Tab to keep the leaderboard open between attacks to see who is who.
• Play leapfrog with low-health stragglers, who tend to be the farthest from the group.
• Several Ultra Slashers on the team allow simultaneous strikes from different angles.

On the human team

If you know an Ultra Slasher is hunting you, be ready to aim carefully at it.

Trivia (jokes)

• It "inspired" the nursery rhyme about the cow jumping over the moon.
• It travels faster vertically than any known entity.
• It cannot grab prey because its hands are full of keys.
• It can survive the vacuum of space but not a Microwave Gun, and rolling does not put out the fire.
