KF2 Boomstick Jump and Circle Tactics vs Scrake, Fleshpound, Hans
This is a tactics guide for the early-access period (marked outdated by its author) that shows how to take down Scrakes, Fleshpounds and Hans with movement tricks. It came with video showcases. For a more recent look at the jump itself see the Boomstick double-jump guide.
Before you begin
Practice on lower difficulties first; the tactics become important on Suicidal and Hell on Earth. Most are far easier from level 15 with the Faster Reload skill. Walking in a circle around the Scrake and the boss works for every class.
A typical open arena where these tactics are practised.
Scrake: Boomstick jump and running in circles
- Keep the right distance for Boomstick jumps.
- Make sure you have a lot of space so trash zeds do not bother you.
- Stay as close as you can so he cannot swing his chainsaw around.

Fleshpound: Boomstick jump
- As with the Scrake, keep your distance or he smashes you.
- Shoot him with any weapon to rage him early, which pre-damages him; before he arrives switch back to the Boomstick to deal damage and push yourself away.
- Make sure no other zeds can grab you.
- Walking around him is a bad plan because he uses area attacks a lot.

Hans Volter: running in circles
- Do not stay too far away: he fires his guns often when you are far, sometimes from short range. Hide for a moment, then attack.
- Walk around, do damage, reload and resupply. When you need ammo, run to a safe place and weld a door to slow him down; repeat until you find ammo.
- When grabbed, heal quickly or have someone heal you. Do not waste ammo shooting him while he drains someone: he has about 80% damage reduction then.
- Hans changes his main target often, so the team should shoot from a distance away from the target, otherwise he throws all his grenades.
- When several players try the circle tactic at once, he drops gas grenades at his feet, so be careful.
