Chronicle 5: full patch notes
Oath of Blood: update notes and the October 24, 2006 patch
Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood was released on September 6, 2006. Below is the full official list of changes from Lineage2.com, followed by the changes of the October 24, 2006 patch. A preliminary overview of the update and descriptions of the new territories are in Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood, and per-class skill changes are in Chronicle 5: skill changes.
Characters
Maximum level
The maximum character level is 80. Subclasses can also reach level 80, get the third profession and become Noblesse, but only the main class can take part in the Grand Olympiad and become a Hero.
HP recovery
All characters up to level 40 recover HP faster while sitting.
Titles and ranks
A rank system based on character and clan activity was introduced:
- A character's rank depends on their social standing, whether they belong to a clan, and the clan's level and strength.
- Your rank is shown in the character status window; another character's rank is shown in the target window next to the clan information.
- Heroes and Noblesse get ranks regardless of clan.
| Rank | Who gets it |
|---|---|
| Vagabond | Character without a clan |
| Vassal | Member of a clan of any level; clan academy member |
| Heir | Member of a level 5+ clan; Royal Guard or Order of Knights member |
| Knight | Leader of a level 4 clan; clan member outside the Royal Guard and Knights; Royal Guard member; Order of Knights member |
| Elder | Leader of a level 5+ clan; Royal Guard member; clan member outside the Royal Guard and Knights |
| Baron | Noblesse; clan leader; head of an Order of Knights (Knight Banneret); clan member outside the Royal Guard and Knights |
| Viscount | Captain of Royal Guard; head of an Order of Knights |
| Count | Clan leader; Captain of Royal Guard |
| Marquis | Hero; clan leader |
The rank in each row also depends on the clan level, which is why the same roles appear in several rows.
Other
If a PK with fewer than 5 PKs is killed by a monster and drops an item, their party and clan no longer get 15 seconds of pickup priority.
Clans and alliances
The maximum clan level is 8.
Clan structure
A clan of level 5 or higher can accept more than 40 members, and the leader can create an Academy, Royal Guard units and Orders of Knights.
| Clan level | Main clan | Academy | Royal Guard (2 units) | Knights (4 orders) | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 10 | - | - | - | 10 |
| 1 | 15 | - | - | - | 15 |
| 2 | 20 | - | - | - | 20 |
| 3 | 30 | - | - | - | 30 |
| 4 | 40 | - | - | - | 40 |
| 5 | 40 | 20 | - | - | 60 |
| 6 | 40 | 20 | 20 + 20 | - | 100 |
| 7 | 40 | 20 | 20 + 20 | 10 x 4 | 140 |
| 8 | 40 | 20 | 20 + 20 | 10 x 4 | 140 |
The Academy holds up to 20 members, a Royal Guard unit up to 20 (there can be 2 units), an Order of Knights up to 10 (there can be 4 orders).
Raising the clan level
| Level | SP | Adena | Item | Reputation | Members |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 30,000 | 650,000 | - | 0 | 1+ |
| 2 | 150,000 | 2,500,000 | - | 0 | 1+ |
| 3 | 500,000 | 0 | Blood Mark | 0 | 1+ |
| 4 | 1,400,000 | 0 | Alliance Manifesto | 0 | 1+ |
| 5 | 3,500,000 | 0 | Seal of Aspiration | 0 | 1+ |
| 6 | 0 | 0 | - | 10,000 | 30+ |
| 7 | 0 | 0 | - | 20,000 | 80+ |
| 8 | 0 | 0 | - | 40,000 | 120+ |
Royal Guard and Orders of Knights
- The leader of a level 6+ clan can create 2 Royal Guard units of 20 members each; a unit captain is appointed on creation.
- The leader of a level 7+ clan can create 2 Orders of Knights per Royal Guard unit - 4 orders of 10 members in total.
- Units and orders cannot be disbanded while the clan exists. If a captain leaves the clan, the unit remains, and the clan leader appoints a new captain through the clan management NPC.

Structure of a fully developed clan: main clan, Academy, Royal Guard units and Orders of Knights.
- The main clan, units and orders share the name and crest; unit and order members use clan and alliance chat, the clan hall, castle and notice board on equal terms with the main clan (the leader can revoke this for a whole unit).
- Unit and order members take part in sieges and wars under the standard rules.
- Privileges apply only within one's own sub-unit: for example, a Royal Guard member cannot accept a character into the main clan but can accept one into a lower order or the Academy.
Clan Reputation Score
A clan of level 5 or higher earns reputation points for its activity; the amount is shown in the Adventurer's Guide Book.
Points are earned when:
- an Academy member gets the second profession;
- the clan captures a castle (attackers that did not take the castle get nothing);
- the clan holds a castle or helps defend it;
- the clan captures a clan hall (Bandit Stronghold, Devastated Castle, Partisan Hideaway, etc.); a bonus is added if another clan owned it;
- a clan member's party takes first place at the Festival of Darkness (points are distributed by the winners' levels and ranks);
- a clan member becomes a Hero;
- the clan completes a clan level quest;
- a clan member kills a character from a clan in a mutual war, or an enemy during a siege (no points if the victim's clan has 0 points or less).
Points are lost when:
- another clan captures the clan's castle or clan hall (points are deducted even below 0);
- the clan rises to level 6, 7 and 8;
- the clan acquires new clan skills;
- items are bought for points;
- a clan member dies in a mutual war or a siege (if the score is below 0, nothing more is deducted).
Clan members can buy three types of the A-grade Apella Set for reputation points from NPCs in Aden and Rune.
Clan skills
The clan leader learns skills from a special NPC for reputation points and special items obtainable only from raid bosses. More skills become available as the clan level grows. Once learned, a skill applies to all clan members, including the Academy, units and orders, if they meet its conditions. If clan reputation drops below 0, the skills stop working, and no new skills (even those not requiring reputation) can be learned until it is positive again.

Academy
- A clan of level 5 or higher can create an Academy to help newcomers. It accepts any character below level 40 without the second profession, up to 20 members. The clan leader creates it through the clan activity NPC (High Priest, Grand Master, etc.).
- On getting the second profession at level 40, an Academy member receives a keepsake from the profession NPC and leaves the Academy. They can immediately join the main clan or a sub-unit without the usual clan-leaving penalty.
- Academy members are full clan members with some exceptions. Their clan name is shown in yellow; they use clan and alliance chat, the castle, clan hall, clan warehouse and notice board (the leader can forbid this for all Academy members).
- Academy members cannot be given privileges for accepting and expelling members, granting titles, changing the crest, appointing captains and mentors, raising the clan level, managing the notice board, declaring war, disbanding the clan, extra functions, auctions, taxes, siege registration or mercenary management.
- In wars and sieges, Academy members lose the normal amount of experience even in a mutual war, do not see the hostile clan icon and are not treated as allies.
Mentors
- Main clan members with the right to appoint captains and mentors can assign a mentor from the main clan or sub-units to a newcomer; the link can be broken. Each newcomer can have only one mentor.
- Names of Academy members with a mentor are shown in yellow, without one in white. When the mentor or newcomer logs in, both receive a system message.
- With a mentor, the newcomer can complete a quest for a D-grade armor set that only Academy members and graduates can wear. If the character is expelled before graduating, the armor stays on, but once removed it cannot be worn again.
Privileges
The clan leader can delegate new powers: expelling members, appointing captains and mentors, granting ranks, and managing the castle and manor. As before, management of the crest and emblem, use and management of the clan hall, castle management (manor, taxes, mercenaries) and castle upgrades (gates, walls, traps) can be delegated - even if the clan currently has no hall or castle. Privileges can be tied to ranks automatically: "Edit Privileges" edits the rights, "Change Rank" sets a member's rank.
Leader change and clan window
- The leader can name a successor through the clan activity NPC (High Priest, Grand Master, etc.). The change happens at the next scheduled maintenance and can be cancelled until then.
- The clan window was redesigned: double-clicking a name opens the management window (title, rank, privileges, mentor, expelling, moving to a sub-unit). The character does not need to be online to receive privileges.
- A drop-down list shows the main clan, Academy, units and orders separately. "Invite" lets you choose where to place the new member, "Edit Emblem" opens crest and emblem management, and "War Info" shows war information.

Other
- The maximum number of clans in an alliance is 3.
- The penalty for leaving or being expelled from a clan was reduced from 5 days to 1 day.
- The Clan Hall Manager shows the date and amount of the next clan hall payment.
Heroes and the Grand Olympiad
Grand Olympiad
- Results of past Olympiads can be viewed at the Grand Olympiad Manager.
- In a draw, both players lose points.
- In a match between two characters of the same class, participants receive buffs; the winner gets a Noblesse Gate Pass.
- Hero and clan skills cannot be used during a match.
- If several players share first place in their class, the one with more wins becomes the winner; if wins are equal, the one with the higher win/loss ratio; if that is equal too, nobody wins. As before, at least 5 matches and at least 1 win are required.
- If a match cannot take place because there are no opponents, a system message says so.
- When a character is moved to the stadium, summoning a servitor or cubic is interrupted, and automatic Soulshot/Spiritshot and Beast Soulshot/Spiritshot use is turned off.
Hero skills
New skills are learned from the Grand Olympiad Manager after becoming a Hero and do not work on a subclass.
| Skill | Effect | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Heroic Miracle | Briefly greatly increases P. Def., M. Def., Cancel resistance and movement speed | Shield; 40 Soul Ore |
| Heroic Berserker | Briefly greatly increases Accuracy, P. Atk., M. Atk., attack and casting speed, movement speed and resistance to Cancel, debuffs and HP reduction; greatly lowers P. Def., M. Def. and Evasion | 40 Soul Ore |
| Heroic Valor | Briefly greatly increases P. Atk., P. Def., Cancel resistance and movement speed | Shield; 80 Soul Ore |
| Heroic Grandeur | Briefly greatly lowers P. Def., M. Def., Evasion and shield block chance of nearby enemies, lowers their debuff resistance and blocks their buffs and skills | 80 Soul Ore |
| Heroic Dread | Nearby enemies flee in fear at increased speed | 80 Soul Ore |
During raids on Antharas, Valakas and Baium, the bosses may shout the name of a Hero present.
Skills and spells
Many classes received new skills (per-class details are in Chronicle 5: skill changes). Changes to existing skills:
- Poison resistance now depends on CON (was MEN), debuff and DoT resistance on MEN (was WIT).
- Buffs and debuffs from the same source do not stack; buffs and debuffs of different kinds can coexist; a debuff replaces the opposite buff of equal strength. Vulnerability debuffs lower resistance to one magic type while raising resistance to the opposite one (fire - water, earth - wind).
- Slows were made weaker and shorter.
- Hate and Aura of Hate can be used on players in PvP mode ("purple" characters, PKs, characters in a siege zone); the user enters PvP mode.
- Ultimate Defense, Ultimate Evasion, Touch of Life, Vengeance and Lion Heart resist Cancel better.
- Lightning Strike: higher MP cost and success rate, shorter duration and reuse.
- Corpse Plague: lower MP cost and radius.
- Touch of Death and Touch of Life: lower MP cost.
- Holy Strike, Disrupt Undead and Might of Heaven became sacred attacks, while Horror, Lure, Switch, Trick, Forget and Peace became mental attacks.
- Skills using Focused Force (Tyrant, Grand Khavatari) and Sonic Focus (Gladiator, Duelist) charges consume only the charges needed (with 5 charges and a skill needing 2, 3 remain). Gladiator skills need 1 more charge than before but reuse faster. Area skills consume Energy Stones instead of charges. Skill critical chance is fixed, and critical damage equals double the skill damage.
- Focused Force and Sonic Focus consume both HP and MP.
- Sonic Rage and Raging Force were slightly sped up.
- Duelist Spirit deals more damage and reuses faster in PvP.
- Totems changed. Reuse: Wolf and Bear Spirit Totem 90 seconds, Puma and Ogre 120 seconds, Rabbit and Bison 180 seconds. Wolf lasts longer and gives Accuracy; Bear increases critical damage; Puma has a smaller attack speed bonus, gains Accuracy and loses its P. Def. penalty; Ogre loses its P. Atk., Accuracy, Max HP and HP recovery bonuses, with a stronger P. Def. bonus; Rabbit has weaker speed and Evasion bonuses; Bison gains Accuracy and gets stronger the lower your HP.
- These skills have a chance to ignore shields: Spinning Slasher, Thunder Storm, Punch of Doom, Hammer Crush, Triple Sonic Slash, Burning Fist, Soul Breaker, Hurricane Assault, Crush of Doom, Shock Blast and Earthquake.
- Revival restores HP fully but can be used only below 5% HP (was 10%).
- Rage and Frenzy bonuses depend on the weapon: unchanged for one-handed swords and blunts, extra Accuracy and P. Atk. for two-handed ones, greatly reduced for all other weapons.
- Focus Attack became a buff instead of a toggle, and skill levels were added.
- Dash and Blinding Blow: shorter reuse, lower MP cost, longer duration.
- Lethal Strike effect: with a low chance it reduces a monster's HP by 50% (PvM) or an opponent's CP to 1 (PvP); with a very low chance it reduces a monster's HP to 1, or an opponent's CP and HP to 1.
- Deadly Blow and Blinding Blow gained the Lethal Strike effect.
- Backstab gained Lethal Strike and a chance of a double critical; with the new damage formula, Soulshots matter more.
- Stun Shot, Trick and Switch make the opponent lose target.
- Double Shot gained a chance of a double critical.
- Snipe: higher P. Atk., Accuracy and range bonuses, but longer casting and reuse.
- Sleep and Sleeping Cloud cast longer.
- Cancel and Touch of Death remove no more than 5 buffs and debuffs.
- Mage classes with bows and polearms get Accuracy and casting speed penalties.
- A servitor deals only part of its damage to characters; if it is not a dedicated PvP servitor, damage to characters is reduced.
- Vampiric skills: Drain Health costs less MP; Vampiric Claw, Steal Essence, Life Leech, Vampiric Touch and Life Drain cost more.
- Dark Vortex is weaker but converts a larger share of damage into HP.
- Curse: Fear became available to Sorcerer, Spellhowler and Spellsinger.
- Mass Slow's radius is now measured from the caster rather than the target.
- Berserker Spirit and Holy Weapon can be cast only on party members.
- Berserker Spirit and Rage of Pa'agrio also lower Evasion.
- Greater Heal, Greater Group Heal and Heart of Pa'agrio heal instantly plus over time; total healing rose to 110-120% of the previous amount.
- The radius of clan and alliance skills, including Mass Resurrection, was increased.
- Aura Sink and Seal of Gloom gained an MP burn effect.
- Higher success rate for Forget, Curse Fear, Anchor, Peace, Hold Undead and Lightning Strike.
- Minor changes to various skill effects.
- MP/HP costs of some skills were adjusted to match their effects.
- SP costs for learning skills were lowered (there are more skills now, but characters do not earn more SP).
- Mental Shield was weakened.
- Backstab ignores the opponent's CP.
- Dance of Shadow, Stealth and Silent Move do not work against, and Lethal Strike and target-loss effects (Trick, Switch, etc.) do not affect: castle defense mercenaries, clan hall siege monsters, quest monsters, raid and dungeon bosses and their minions, monsters in the passage to Frintezza, Festival of Darkness and Four Sepulchers monsters, Treasure Chests, Dimensional Rift monsters and monsters caught while fishing.
- Sonic Blaster is learned from level 43 (was 40).
- Double Sonic Slash is learned from level 49 (was 46).
- Transfer Pain works only if the servitor is near its master.
- Curse Fear reuse reduced from 20 to 10 seconds.
Teleports
- Teleports from starting towns to hunting grounds were added, and old destinations were reorganized.
- Newbies can teleport between starting towns via the Newbie Guide, paying with items from the tutorial quest.
- Direct teleports were added between castle towns: Gludio, Dion, Giran, Heine, Oren, Aden, Rune, Goddard, Schuttgart.
- Hunting ground teleport prices depend on monster level and distance: for example, Gludin Village to Abandoned Camp is cheaper than from Gludio.
| NPC | Destinations |
|---|---|
| Gatekeeper (regular teleports) | Between towns and villages; from town to nearby hunting grounds except catacombs, necropolises and the Festival of Darkness |
| Gatekeeper (Noblesse Teleport) | Any hunting ground except catacombs, necropolises and the Festival of Darkness, including the center of grounds reachable by regular teleport |
| Clan hall teleport | Hunting grounds in the clan hall's region; cheaper than the Gatekeeper |
| Priest of Dawn/Dusk | Catacombs, necropolises, the Festival of Darkness and the Dimensional Rift (no regular grounds). During the competition period any priest; during the seal effect period only the winners with their own priests, at a lower price |
Rune and Schuttgart territories
The Rune, Elmore and Schuttgart territories were added, joining Elmore and Aden into a single continent that can now be crossed on foot without teleports. Final (North American) names and monster levels:
| Location | Region | Levels | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Pagan Temple | Rune | 80-87 | Right under the town of Rune; the town's nobles worship Triol, a lord of the Underworld. Only pagans or those who make a sacrifice to Triol may enter |
| The Stakato Nest | Rune | 72-80 | East of the Swamp of Screams; the Stakato Queen lives out her days here and elite Stakato Proconsuls train |
| The Monastery of Silence | Rune | 80-87 | East of the Valley of Saints, a counterweight to the Pagan Temple built by followers of Einhasad; two roads lead to it - from Goddard and from Rune |
| The Frozen Labyrinth | Schuttgart | 53-63 | Southeast of Schuttgart Castle; valleys connected by canyons, next to the Ice Queen's castle. For solo and party play |
| The Den of Evil | Schuttgart | 40-50 | South of the castle; ruled by Ragna Orcs and Baranka Shamans who command evil spirits. For solo and party play |
| The Plunderous Plains | Schuttgart | 30-40 | East of the castle; the railroad from the Town of Schuttgart to Elmoreden once ran here, now bandits roam |
| The Ice Queen's Castle | Schuttgart | 55-60 | Southeast of the castle, reachable only through the Frozen Labyrinth |
| The Crypts of Disgrace | Schuttgart | 25-32 | Southwest of the castle; connect the Schuttgart dungeons and the Orc Village. For solo and party play |
| The Pavel Ruins | Schuttgart | 46-54 | South of the town; the giant scientist Pavel studied atmospheric phenomena here, now the mad dwarf Dr. Chaos lives here |
The Ice Queen's Castle. A party of at least 2 can enter, and each member must carry 10 Silver Hemocytes (from a quest in the Frozen Labyrinth). Only one party can be inside; it has 35 minutes to defeat the Ice Queen, after which it is moved outside the walls. Restarting inside is not possible, and the timer keeps running during server crashes or maintenance - in those cases the entry quest must be done again.

Monsters
Monsters with unique combat skills were added; the difficulty, skills and behavior of existing monsters now depend on their level. In combat, monsters may drink Healing Potions, counterattack in response to certain skills, teleport a player to themselves and occasionally pick up items from the ground.
Raid and dungeon bosses
- Raid boss fights became much harder, but rewards grew too. Raid bosses of various difficulty appeared in the new territories.
- Raid boss rules now apply to dungeon bosses (Queen Ant, Core, Orfen, Zaken and others): a character 9 or more levels above the boss or its minions gets Silence or Petrification, as does a character trying to use skills near them.
Frintezza
The new dungeon boss Frintezza is the son of Baium of Elmoreden; he received immortality from one of the 4 lords of the Underworld. His fighting style is very different from other bosses. Frintezza lives in the Last Imperial Tomb, and the way to his lair is sealed by a magic barrier that a quest from the Nameless Spirit in the Four Sepulchers removes. At least 4 and at most 5 parties joined in a command channel can enter, and the leader must have Frintezza's Magic Force Field Removal Scroll.
The Last Imperial Tomb is a long passage ending in a blank wall that is an illusion hiding Frintezza's lair. The passage is full of traps and aggressive monsters that drop items useful in the fight with Frintezza.

Life Crystals
- Defeating raid bosses of level 40 and higher gives characters Life Crystals of various kinds.
- Life Crystals can be used at Adventure Guild NPCs to craft C, B and A-grade items - weapons, armor, accessories and hair accessories. Adventure Guild NPCs also offer a mini-game played for crystals.
- If a castle-owning clan defeats a certain raid boss in its territory, an Adventure Guild Manager appears in the castle town to help craft A-grade items: crystals of one kind are exchanged for others.
Items
Boosters (herbs)
To make solo leveling easier, monsters in solo hunting zones drop herbs:
- Herb of Life - restores a percentage of max HP;
- Herb of Mana - restores a percentage of max MP;
- Herb of Strength - increases P. Atk. for 2 minutes;
- Herb of Magic - increases M. Atk. for 2 minutes.
Herb of Strength and Herb of Magic bonuses stack with Might and Empower. Herbs take effect immediately on pickup and cannot be stored in the inventory; an unclaimed herb disappears after 15 seconds. Party loot rules do not apply - whoever picks it up gets the bonus.
Demonic Sword Zariche
The bloody Demonic Sword Zariche once belonged to the demon Bremmnon, one of the 4 lords of the Underworld.

Appearance and ownership:
- Any monster can drop Zariche, but only one sword can exist in the world.
- When the sword appears, the sky darkens, the ground shakes and every player receives a system message.
- The sword is equipped automatically on pickup; it cannot be removed, dropped, traded, sold or destroyed.
- The owner immediately becomes a PK with maximum karma that cannot be cleared, and their HP, MP and CP are fully restored.
- PK status goes away with the sword: it disappears by itself after a set time or when the owner dies. The time counts down even while the character is offline; the remaining time is shown in system messages.
Wars and parties:
- The owner cannot attack characters of level 20 or below, and players below level 21 cannot attack the owner.
- Every hit by the owner reduces the opponent's CP to 0; a Hero's hit on the owner reduces the owner's CP to 0.
- Normal death rules do not apply: PK count and karma do not grow, no experience is lost and no items drop.
- The owner cannot be in a party (they are removed from one on pickup), use party matching or the command channel.
- Other players cannot heal or buff the owner, but the owner can do it themselves. Servitors and pets can be summoned but not ridden.
Olympiad, sieges and lifetime:
- The owner cannot take part in the Olympiad; if a Hero becomes the owner, Hero skills remain available.
- Every kill shortens the sword's remaining time but increases its power.
- In a siege the owner is an enemy to everyone, defenders and attackers alike.
- If the owner is killed after killing others with the sword, it does not vanish but drops to the ground in its normal state and can be picked up.
Set bonuses
When every piece of a set is enchanted to +6 or higher, the set gives extra bonuses; their makeup and strength depend on the set and its grade.
Adventurer's Guide Book
The book shows quest information (starting NPC, type, recommended level, description), raid bosses and the best hunting spots; it is sold at the Grocery Store in every town. It also has a ranking of top raiders: defeating raid bosses earns raid points. The score resets on the 1st of every month at 5 a.m.; during the first week the previous period's points are shown, from the second week the current ones.

Charm of Courage
The charm reduces experience lost when dying in a siege. It is sold by Trader Ralford in the Ivory Tower. Like Charm of Luck for raids, charms can be stored and traded; they are used by double-clicking, and each has a character level restriction. If a character used a charm and died in a siege zone, no experience is lost; outside the siege zone experience is lost as usual. The effect takes its own buff slot and lasts 2 hours or until death.

Fishing
- Fishing championship. Championships are held periodically and announced a few minutes in advance. The player who catches the biggest fish gets a reward. More about fishing in Fishing.
- Night fishing runs from 0:00 to 6:00 game time (check the time with
/time). It requires Luminous Bait from a Fishermen Guild Member. At night high-quality fish can be caught: they use tricks, so Reeling and Pumping have to be used in an unusual order. They give Fish Scales, which the Fishermen Guild Member exchanges for useful items; the fish type, scales and rewards depend on your Fishing Expertise level. - Fishing potions from the Fishermen Guild Member: Fisherman's Potion lowers Fishing Expertise to the required level for 1 hour (it will not work if the reduction is greater than your current skill level); Fishing Potion restores the level - it can be drunk even without a Fisherman's Potion, so do not waste money.

Changes to existing quests
- NPC markers. The yellow exclamation mark no longer appears if your level is above the quest's maximum recommended level. Yellow marks normal and profession quests, blue marks clan level, pet, siege and similar quests.
- Gather the Flames. The quest can be taken and handed in to Blacksmith Hilda in the Town of Goddard (the old NPCs still work). S-grade weapon recipes are given by the wandering Rooney the Blacksmith of Wind in the Forge of the Gods; Vulcan gives them only with a certain chance.
- Enhance Your Weapon. Crystals can be raised to levels 11 and 12 on Beast Lord Behemoth, Roaring Skylancer, Meanas Anor, Eilhalder von Hellmann, Crokian Padisha Sobekk and Antharas Priest Cloe, and to level 13 on Scarlet van Halisha. On these bosses only one character - the one landing the last hit - has a chance to level a crystal.
- Coins of Magic. More monsters drop coins; the quest became a party quest - all party members with the quest get coins.
- Fate's Whisper. B-grade weapons were added for exchange (Guardian Sword, Wizard's Tear, Star Buster, Kaim Vanul's Bones), along with A-grade weapons they can be exchanged for (Spiritual Eye, Infernal Master, Destroyer Hammer).
- Kail's Magic Coin. Added recipes (60%): Flaming Dragon Skull, Doom Crusher, Infernal Master, Spiritual Eye, Destroyer Hammer.
- Stolen Dignity. Added A-grade weapon parts: Infernal Master Blade, Spiritual Eye Piece, Flaming Dragon Skull Piece, Doom Crusher Head, Destroyer Hammer Piece.
- First profession for orcs and dwarves. Some of these quests now take place in the Schuttgart territory.
- Egg Delivery - the reward is given by Brewer Valentine in the Town of Goddard; Specialty Liquor Delivery - by Warehouse Keeper Lietta in the Town of Goddard.
Interface
- Trading. Trade and buy/sell windows show the partner's name and clan and the weight of incoming items; holding Alt moves a whole stack at once; after confirmation the trade window becomes inactive; the craft price is highlighted in the craft window.
- Compass changes color by zone: gray - hunting grounds, necropolises, catacombs; blue - peace zone; red - danger zone with buffs/debuffs; orange - castle and clan hall siege zone; green - free PvP zone (Arena, Coliseum, Olympiad stadium).
- Shortcut bar can be locked with the lock icon at its end.
- Command channel can be created only by clan leaders and members of a clan with the Clan Imperium skill. Channel parties teleport to a dungeon boss together and get loot priority on Antharas (more than 255 characters in the channel, the leader must teleport them to Antharas first), Valakas (more than 99 characters, first to Valakas) and Baium (more than 54 characters, the channel leader must wake Baium).
- Party matching. The window is larger, with buttons for sending a private message and inviting to the party.
- Server announcements go to the system message window instead of chat.
- A Find Private Store command was added to the Action window to search private store titles.
- Targeting a pet shows its type.
- Display of enchanted item bonuses in the pet inventory was fixed; item tooltips were improved.
- The cloak slot was removed - characters now have 2 accessory slots.
- The resurrection prompt no longer disappears when pressing Enter.
- The time during which only fight participants can pick up raid boss loot was increased to 5 minutes.
Castles and clan halls
Rune Castle and Schuttgart Castle
Rune Castle and Schuttgart Castle were added. Rune Castle is a royal castle like Aden Castle and collects taxes from Goddard Castle and Schuttgart Castle. 7 A-class clan halls were added in Rune Town and 4 B-class clan halls in the Town of Schuttgart.
Wild Beast Reserve
- Located north of the Beast Farm; captured under the Bandit Stronghold rules by clans of level 4 and higher.
- The first 5 clans to register with the Messenger at the entrance take part - but first they must complete A Grand Plan for Taming Wild Beasts, which can be taken no earlier than an hour before the battle.
- Up to 18 members per clan who completed the quest can register.
- A killed character respawns at a special spot and returns to the fight through a gatekeeper.
- Unique pets live here that are easier to tame than on the Beast Farm.
Fortress of the Dead
- Located southeast of Rune Town; captured under the Devastated Castle rules by clans of level 4 and higher. It is the highest-class clan hall among the capturable ones.
- Registration with the Messenger 2 hours before the start; the owning clan is registered automatically.
- The battle lasts an hour; the clan that deals the most damage to the raid boss Lidia von Hellmann wins. Killing Alfred von Hellmann and Giselle von Hellmann beforehand makes it easier.
- The battle ends when Lidia von Hellmann dies; if she is alive after an hour, it is a draw and the hall passes to an NPC until the next battle.
- The leader of the owning clan can fly a wyvern.

Rainbow Springs Chateau
Located north of the Hot Springs. The winner is decided by a mini-game; clans of level 3 and higher take part, with at least 5 members in the clan party.
Registration:
- An hour before the start, a clan leader carrying a Rainbow Springs Clan Hall War Decree can register as a contender.
- The 4 clans whose leaders bring the most Rainbow Springs Clan Hall War Decrees get to fight (they are obtained by fishing in the Hot Springs with Hot Springs Bait).
- If the leader of a registered clan requests the clan's dissolution, the clan is removed from the list and the War Decrees are not returned. Cancelling before the start returns half of the War Decrees.
- The owning clan takes part automatically, in which case there are 3 contenders.
The battle:
- It takes place in the eastern Rainbow Springs arena and has three stages: 1 hour of waiting in the arena, 58 minutes of fighting and 2 minutes of cleanup.
- Clan members form a party (the party leader is the clan leader, at least 5 members) and teleport to the arena through the Caretaker NPC before the start. The area around the arena is a peace zone.
- Parties are placed at different ends of the arena; buffs and debuffs are removed, servitors and pets are dismissed and cannot be summoned again.
- When the fight begins, the Hot Springs Yeti (explains the rules and gives tips) and the Hot Springs Gourd appear in the center, and Treasure Chests appear at random across the arena.
- Chests can be broken only with bare hands (biting chests with any weapon); they drop Hot Springs Yeti's Shouts, which participants exchange with the Hot Springs Yeti for special items. A Shout can be passed only by dropping it on the ground.
- An Enraged Yeti may appear and attack players; it can be hit with any weapon.
- Special items are used only on the Hot Springs Yeti: they reduce the Hot Springs Gourd's HP, debuff rival teams or restore the Gourd's HP.
- The clan whose party breaks the Hot Springs Gourd first wins.
- In the third stage a Manager picks up all items on the ground, and after 2 minutes all participants are moved out of the arena. The battle timer keeps running during server crashes or maintenance.
Castle sieges
- Rune Castle siege. The dungeon boss Benom was added, imprisoned long ago in the castle dungeons; the barriers of his prison are powered by Life Crystals. Benom appears 24 hours before the siege, and members of the owning clan can teleport to him and fight. If the defenders did not kill him before the siege and the attackers destroy 2 or more Life Control Towers, the barrier falls and Benom heads for the throne room, attacking everyone indiscriminately.
- Up to 5 castles can be besieged in one day.
- Siege-related castle management is possible only during the seal effect week.

Seven Signs
- If a character of the winning side rejoins the same side, all the stones they handed in are automatically converted into ancient adena - the winning side cannot save stones for future periods.
- During the seal effect period (2nd week), losers and those who joined neither side can pay a considerable amount of adena to enter the Dimensional Rift via Gate Keeper Ziggurat.
- If the inventory is more than 80% full by count or weight (64+ items or 80%+ weight), joining a side gives a warning - free up the inventory first.
Manor
With Rune Castle and Schuttgart Castle, crops can be harvested in the Rune, Dwarven Village and Orc Village territories.
Servitors and pets
- Fixed a bug where, if a servitor or pet far from its master killed a monster, the master's experience went to party members. Experience is now distributed by the level difference of all party members.
- Servitor skills were adjusted (physical abilities unchanged); other players can see their HP; servitors get a damage penalty when attacking players; some servitors use a different number of Beast Soulshots; a servitor cannot be dismissed mid-fight.
- Potion and scroll effects no longer disappear when mounting a strider.
- New pets Tiny Baby Cougar, Tiny Baby Buffalo and Tiny Baby Kookaburra live in the Wild Beast Reserve; they are tamed with Golden Spice.
- New armor for Tiny Baby and Baby pets - Little Harness - is sold by the Pet Manager in every town.
Other changes
- The patcher got a new look.
- It rains and snows in the Rune and Schuttgart territories.
- A character who flies a wyvern into a no-fly zone (for example, the Lair of Valakas) gets a warning and time to leave; otherwise the character dies.
- GPU Animation and Overall Sound Mute were added to Game Option.
- Letters older than 90 days are deleted on server restart (except restored ones).
- Item descriptions and dialogs were corrected.

October 24, 2006 patch
Death penalties
- "White" and "purple" characters do not drop items on death; the chance for PKs to drop items was reduced.
- After resurrection, a character may receive a combat penalty - with the same chance that used to apply to dropping an item. Penalties stack for characters who die often, fade over time and are shown in the status window.
- Penalties are removed with special recovery scrolls (PKs cannot use them) or for a fee by the Black Judge NPC in Floran Village, the Wastelands and Hardin's Academy (available to everyone, including PKs). Charm of Luck prevents the penalty.
Skills
- All summoners received Summon Friend for summoning party members. Elemental Summoner, Phantom Summoner and Warlock learn it at level 56; the books are sold at the Magic Store in Rune Township at certain times with a certain chance.
- The summoned character must carry a Summoning Crystal (sold at the Grocery Store). You cannot summon into free PvP zones, siege zones, certain raid and epic boss zones or the Olympiad stadium, and you cannot summon dead characters or characters in PvP mode. Summoning skills are planned for other classes too.
- Fortune of Noblesse prevents the combat penalty on death from a raid boss or its army; casting it requires 4 Lucky Charm: A Grade.
- Clan Death Fortune reduces experience loss and the chance of a combat penalty on death from a PK or a monster.
- Lucky prevents the combat penalty up to level 9.
Items
- New instant potions with grades: Elixir of Life (HP, C-grade), Elixir of Mental Strength (MP, D-grade), Elixir of CP (CP, S-grade). The matching expertise is required - for example, a level 76 character can drink only S-grade potions. They are sold at the Grocery Store or crafted (Common Craft); recipes are sold in clan halls.
- New boosters were added; their effects no longer stack with regular buffs, and the list of zones where they drop changed.
- New items appeared in Luxor, including Soul Crystals of levels 7-10. More in Luxor shop.
- Weight changes: Spirit Ore 10 → 5, CP Potion 110 → 25, Greater CP Potion 500 → 100. The reuse delay of CP Potion and Greater CP Potion was greatly reduced.
- The Blacksmith of Mammon exchanges B-grade weapons (swords, blunts, bows, spears) for the fists Arthro Nail and Bellion Cestus; the reverse exchange is not possible.
Quests
- Up to 25 quests can be active at once.
- On taking the second profession quest (or, if it is already taken, on completing it) a character receives Dimension Diamonds for buying Scroll of Escape to Town.
- In Enhance Your Weapon, crystals of levels 1-10 can no longer break.
Interface
- A debuff window was added (up to 10 debuffs from NPCs, zone effects or toggle skills). The maximum number of displayed buffs was raised to 24; the Divine Inspiration skill (book Ancient Book - Divine Inspiration) adds 1 slot per level.
- The clan window got a position change button: the leader can move members between units and orders without expelling them (but not into or out of the Academy).
- Party matching shows those looking for a party, lets you message and invite them; regular party members can now invite players too.
- Adventurer's Guide Book functions moved to the minimap (the book can be sold to a shop at its base price); the minimap shows Zariche's location.
- The shortcut bar can be shown in 2 or 3 rows (toggle with the arrow at its edge). The second and third rows work only with the mouse; F1-F12 (Alt+1...Alt+=) trigger skills from the first row.
- The loading screen shows tips (can be turned off in Game Options). An option to hide items lying on the ground was added for slow computers - with it on, items can be picked up only with
/pickupor the Actions button.
Seven Signs
- Seal of Strife changes max CP: +10% for the owning side, -10% for the opposite side; if the seal is unowned, CP does not change.
- Returning to town during sieges: if Dawn holds the seal, characters registered for a siege respawn in the second-nearest town; if Dusk or nobody holds it, in the nearest town. This also applies to return scrolls and spells.
Grand Olympiad
- The stadium was made smaller. The Olympiad runs for 6 hours (was 4): from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM CST; on the European Teon and Franz servers from 18:00 to 00:00 (GMT+1).
- Match start announcement: 30 → 120 seconds; preparation: 50 → 60 seconds; match length: 180 → 360 seconds; remaining time announced 60 seconds before the end; post-match delay: 20 → 40 seconds.
- Non-class matches need at least 9 registered players; class matches still need 5.
- If a character cannot take part (restart, subclass switch, full inventory, death) before being moved to the stadium, they lose 20% of their points, the match is cancelled and the opponent gets no points. After being moved, it counts as a loss.
- A match with no damage dealt, or with equal damage, is a draw.
- The winner gets 20% of the opponent's points in non-class matches and 33.3% in class matches. Noble Gate Passes per match: 30 for non-class, 50 for class matches.
- The following cannot be used in matches: Blessing of Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Darkness, Sanctity; Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Dark and Sanctity Crystal; Elixir of Life, Elixir of Mental Strength, Elixir of CP.
- New participants get 50 points, the maximum was lowered to 1,000, and the Hero bonus was raised to 300. A Hero candidate must play at least 9 matches.
- Enchant Weapon/Armor D and C-grade were removed from the Olympiad Manager, and other prices went up.
Pets and servitors
- The lifetime of second profession servitors (Warlock, Elemental Summoner, Phantom Summoner) was tripled, with crystal consumption adjusted: Kat the Cat, Mew the Cat, Kai the Cat, Cat Queen, Unicorn Boxer, Unicorn Mirage, Unicorn Merrow, Unicorn Seraphim, Shadow, Silhouette, Soulless, Nightshade.
- A servitor does not attack or use skills if its master is 20 or more levels below it; Pickup, Move and Unsummon still work.
- The area around the Tower of Insolence became a no-fly zone.
Monsters
- Frintezza was made easier: Scarlet van Halisha has lower P. Def. and speed and levitates less often; Frintezza plays the hypnosis melody much less often.
- Antharas has less HP, P. Def. and M. Def.; Valakas has less HP and P. Def. but more M. Def.
- Frozen Labyrinth spawn points and respawn times changed, and its experience was brought in line with other zones. Spawns in Varka Silenos Outpost and Ketra Orc Outpost changed; the Cemetery got more monsters. Monsters near raid bosses in the Gludio, Dion, Oren, Innadril and Aden territories were removed.
- Bug fixes: the Mysterious Box did not appear in the Four Sepulchers; Bleed was not removed after killing Triol's Revelation; Gatekeeper Zombies did not attack players without a pagan mark; Master Anays in the Monastery of Silence did not attack; a Weathermaster bug in the Ruins of Pavel Research Center.
- In the Pagan Temple all monsters disappear when High Priest van Halter is killed; before the fight with High Priestess van Halter on the third floor a cutscene plays, and the fight starts right after it.
Other
- The Monster Race Track can no longer be watched through the Broadcasting Tower.
- During off-peak hours (8:00 PM to 12:00 AM CST; on Teon and Franz 18:00 to 00:00 GMT+1) Gatekeeper teleports cost half; weekends are considered peak time all day.
- All characters below level 25 get newbie benefits: weapon and armor exchange, buffs and Soulshot/Spiritshot quests.
- Teleporting to Giran Castle Town and Schuttgart Castle Town now places you next to the gatekeeper; some Noblesse teleport points were moved to safe spots. The Orc Village teleport Northern Immortal Plateau was renamed The Immortal Plateau.
- Raid point tracking in the Adventurer's Guide Book was fixed; the clan name color in the target window depends on the character's position in the clan.
