All Killing Floor Games and Updates, Ranked (2025 List)
Killing Floor has always been about one thing: surviving wave after wave of monsters with friends and a ridiculous arsenal. It began as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod in 2005 and grew into one of the best-known co-op shooters, with sequels, a VR spin-off, big updates and seasonal events. After Killing Floor 3 launched in 2025, Gaming.net ranked the whole franchise, mixing full games with events, DLC and updates. Here is that list, retold in our words, from 10th place to 1st.

10. Killing Floor
Killing Floor 1: specimens in a blood-soaked, red-lit room.
This is where it started. Tripwire Interactive turned a mod into a full retail game in 2009 and set the formula: up to six players hold out against stronger and stronger waves, manage their money, and face a boss at the end. Its strength was atmosphere. It looks dated now, but it was about surviving together and hoping the team made it through the next wave. More in About the game.
9. Killing Floor 2
Killing Floor 2: a gas-masked survivor in an overgrown courtyard.
KF2 took everything from the first game and added polish. On Unreal Engine 3 it brought a detailed dismemberment system that let players tear zeds apart, guns with more kick, rawer melee and more varied, colorful maps. What kept it going for years was the steady flow of updates: new weapons, maps and seasonal events. Many players logged thousands of hours grinding perks and testing builds, and for them this is the definitive Killing Floor. See Killing Floor 2.
8. Killing Floor: Incursion
Killing Floor: Incursion, the VR spin-off.
The series' jump into virtual reality. Instead of pressing a button, you reload weapons by hand, swing melee weapons and physically duck behind cover, with every zed right in your face. The story campaign is short but exciting, moving through creepy labs and bloody battlefields. The highlight is survival mode, where two players stand side by side in VR fighting hordes. It is not as deep as the main games, but it showed that Killing Floor's action works well in VR.
7. Twisted Christmas
Twisted Christmas: toy soldiers, gingerbread and robot zeds.
Few shooters do holiday events like Killing Floor. Twisted Christmas turned zeds into twisted holiday figures, from blade-wielding giants to demonic snowmen and an evil Santa-themed boss, all to cheerful Christmas music while you fight for your life. The event came back with new maps, skins and weapons, and became a tradition that showed the developers could mix horror with humor. The KF1 versions are covered in event content.
6. PostMortem Character Pack

Small additions matter too. This KF1 pack added new survivors to play as, each with their own backstory and personality. It was not a big expansion, but character variety helps in a co-op lobby, players got attached to their favorite avatars, and the pack gave more ways to stand out. 5. Summer Sideshow
The Summer Sideshow: zeds as clowns and circus freaks.
Where Twisted Christmas went for holiday horror, Summer Sideshow went for full carnival chaos. Zeds became clowns, strongmen and other circus freaks, sprinting at you to carnival music. It mixed laughs and scares in a way only this series does, and like the Christmas events it turned into a yearly summer tradition.
4. Killing Floor 2: Endless Mode

Once players had mastered the normal wave formula, Endless Mode removed the finish line: no final boss, no set end, just an infinite climb against harder and harder waves. Teams could test how far they could get, and every wave felt like a new challenge. For a game built on replayability, it was a perfect fit. Other modes are explained in game modes explained.
3. Killing Floor 2: Back & Kickin' Brass
Back & Kickin' Brass: steampunk-styled zeds and gear.
This update pushed KF2 in a stylish new direction with steampunk-themed weapons and brass-plated gadgets. It went beyond new gear: visuals and sound effects leaned into the steampunk look, giving the familiar bloodbath a fresh feel. It proved Tripwire could keep reinventing the formula without losing what made it fun.
2. Killing Floor 2: Perilous Plunder
Perilous Plunder: pirate-themed cosmetics and gear.
A pirate-themed nightmare: fighting zeds among shipwrecks, treasure chests and creaking wood. It had a sense of adventure that stood apart from the darker events. The details made it: pirate hats, themed cosmetics and weapons. See also KF2 cosmetics.
1. Killing Floor 3
Killing Floor 3 key art: a Nightfall specialist in front of a zed horde.
Killing Floor 3 launched in July 2025 and is the biggest step the series has taken. The story jumps to 2091, where Horzine's monsters have overrun most of the world. Fights are larger, maps are bigger, and you can use environmental traps to swing a fight. On Unreal Engine 5, everything looks darker, sharper and more intense. It also gives more freedom in how you play: weapons can be customized, and specialists have new skill paths that make builds feel different. The zeds are more dangerous too. Overall, it is the best mix of horror and action in the series so far. Start with Killing Floor 3 and the best builds and loadouts.
