KF2 Custom Keybinds in KFInput.ini: Exit, Say, FPS, HUD, Sprint
This guide is a Russian translation of an English keybinding guide (the original is Steam guide 422689334). It shows how to assign your own commands to keys in Killing Floor 2, listing only the bindings that worked at the time. The author warns that future updates might reset or break bindings. For related references see KF2 setbind keybinding guide and toggle HUD keybinding.
Two methods
- Console: press the console key (the one below Esc,
~; if that does not work, try F3), then enter the binding. For example, to exit the game on P:setbind P exit. Heresetbindis the command, followed by the key and the command to run. - Edit KFInput.ini in
Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config. This guide uses this method.
Exit without a warning
Open KFInput.ini in a text editor, find the last line that starts with Bindings = and add a new line below it. By default Alt+F4 does nothing in KF2. To close the game without a warning:
Bindings=(Name="F4",Command="exit",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=True,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Put the key in Name and the command in Command. Shift, Control and Alt can be combined by switching the matching False to True. This only works during play, not in menus.
Text messages (English only)
For example, warnings to teammates:
Bindings=(Name="L",Command="say Scrake incoming!",...)Bindings=(Name="L",Command="say Fleshpound incoming!",...)Bindings=(Name="L",Command="say Boss incoming!",...)
(Use a different key for each, with the remaining fields as in the first example.)
Show or hide the FPS counter
Bindings=(Name="L",Command="stat fps",...) toggles the FPS counter. It does not work in menus.
Show or hide the HUD
Bindings=(Name="H",Command="showhud",...) hides and shows the interface, which is great for screenshots.
Alt-fire and spectator camera on one key
Several commands can share a key, separated by |:
Bindings=(Name="LeftAlt",Command="GBA_switchFireMode | SpectateChangeCamMode",...)
Run without holding a key
Bindings=(Name="L",Command="Toggle bRun",...) toggles running. Note: you will not be able to crouch while this is active, for an unknown reason.
Move and sprint with one key
This makes W, S, A and D always sprint while moving:
Bindings=(Name="W",Command="GBA_MoveForward | GBA_Sprint",...)Bindings=(Name="S",Command="GBA_Backward | GBA_Sprint",...)Bindings=(Name="A",Command="GBA_StrafeLeft | GBA_Sprint",...)Bindings=(Name="D",Command="GBA_StrafeRight | GBA_Sprint",...)
Suicide
Bindings=(Name="L",Command="suicide",...) kills your character. The author labels this for trolls only.
Closing
There are hundreds of commands, but these are the ones people most often look for. If something stops working after an update, the original author asked readers to comment so the guide can be updated.
FAQ
- How do I bind a key from the console?
- Open the console (the key under Esc, or F3 if that fails) and type setbind followed by the key and the command, for example setbind P exit.
- Where is KFInput.ini?
- In Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config. Add a new Bindings= line after the last existing one.
- How do I hide the HUD for screenshots?
- Bind a key to the command showhud, for example Bindings=(Name="H",Command="showhud",...). Pressing it again shows the HUD.
