KF2 Zoom with Any Weapon: setbind x fov 20
This tiny trick gives every weapon a zoom, even those without a scope. It works by binding a key to the console command that changes your field of view. The guide is by a Hungarian player and was written in English and Hungarian, with two screenshots taken from the same spot to show the difference.
How to set it up
- Open the console with F3 (some layouts use another key; see changing the console key).
- Type
setbind x fov 20. - Press Return.
Now pressing X reduces your field of view to 20 degrees. You see less of the scene, but much larger, which acts as a zoom. Every time you use the aim button (right mouse button), the field of view goes back to the value you set in the game menu.
You can bind a different key and use another fov value; a lower number zooms in more. This is handy for players who dislike iron sights, as one commenter pointed out. For another take on aiming and sensitivity see zoom sensitivity for 1:1 ADS and hipfire.
