KF2: Change the Voice-Over Language Without Changing the Game Language
Killing Floor 2 ties its voice-over to the chosen language, but you can mix them by hand: keep the interface in one language and hear the voices in another. This short guide, originally in Russian, explains the file swap.
Steps
- Open the game's local files. In Steam, right-click Killing Floor 2, open Properties, go to Local Files and press Browse Local Files. This takes you straight to the killingfloor2 root folder.
- Navigate to
KFGame\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows. The full default path isSteam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2\KFGame\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows. - Decide which voice language you want. In the author's example, English: open the English(US) folder and copy all files from it.
- Paste them into the folder of the voice language you currently have installed (Russia in the example), replacing every file.
That is all; the game now uses the English voice files while the menus stay in your chosen language.
Reverting
To go back to Russian or any other original voice-over, run Steam's Verify integrity of game files on Killing Floor 2. It restores the original files.
Tips
- Game updates may overwrite the changed files, so repeat the copy if the voices switch back.
- For other tweaks to menu videos see replacing menu and intro videos.
