BrazukaCD In-Match Tools: Wave Control, Spawners, Vampirism, Crosshair

This page is based on the Portuguese (Brazil) BrazukaCD guide, a manual for the Controlled Difficulty mod build used by that community. The basic command list, SpawnCycle difficulty list and match presets are covered on KF2 BrazukaCD guide and in the controlled difficulty beginner guide; here the focus is on the tools you use during a match. When you vote BrazukaCD as the game mode, extra functions appear on the initial HUD.

Core settings in short

  • !cdmm MaxMonsters: how many Zeds can be alive at once. About 12 to 16 for solo, 20 to 24 for two players; experienced teams use 56 or more.
  • !cdcs CohortSize: how many Zeds spawn at once in spawn volumes (5 to 7 or 7 to 9 for experienced players, 3 to 7 for beginners). 0 returns to the vanilla cohort logic.
  • !cdwsf WaveSizeFakes: total Zeds per wave; it should match the player count, though experienced teams may set 12 for six players.
  • !cdsm and !cdsp: SpawnMod and SpawnPoll, best left at default (0.0000 and 1.0000).
  • !cdsc SpawnCycle: decides how many large, medium and small Zeds you see. A friendly cycle with a very high MaxMonsters is not an easy game. In game, the top left shows the large and medium counts for the wave (SC means Scrakes and FP Fleshpounds).

Boss wave

!cddb 0 disables the boss wave and !cddb 1 enables it. !cdboss random|hans|pat|abom|kfp|mat chooses Hans Volter, the Patriarch, the Abomination, the King Fleshpound or the Matriarch.

Trader, ready and map vote

After the first wave the trader time stays static until everyone is ready. You do not have to walk to the trader: !ot opens the trader menu. Ready status shows on TAB; !cdr sets ready and !cdur removes it. !cdtt sets how many seconds remain before the wave after everyone is ready. !mv opens the map vote at any time; select the game mode first, then the map.

HP multipliers

CD teams usually fight Zeds with six-player HP, but you can change it:

  • !cdahpf all Zeds (for example 1 for single-player HP, 6 for six players).
  • !cdfphpf Fleshpounds only; !cdschpf Scrakes only; !cdthpf trash Zeds (Clot, Cyst, Stalker, Crawler, Gorefast, Rioter, Slasher).
  • !cdbhpf boss HP (1 to 6 or more).

Special Zeds

!cdaa 0|1 disables or enables Rioters, !cdag 0|1 Gorefiends and !cdac 0|1 Elite Crawlers.

Headless multipliers

Vanilla Zeds stay up for a long time even after a clean head takedown. The headless damage multipliers fix this: !cdschd for Scrakes, !cdfphd for Fleshpounds and !cdmhd for medium Zeds (mainly Bloats). The author advises against leaving them at 1 and suggests !cdfphd 22, !cdschd 18 and !cdmhd 12, after which one or two body shots drop a headless Zed.

Restart wave and set wave

Use !rw just before a wipe to restart the wave with trader time frozen instead of re-voting the map. !sw <number> jumps to a chosen wave, for example !sw 10 when the team is on wave 5 and wants to practice wave 10.

Zed types

!cdzt selects the Zed set: vanilla (stock Tripwire Zeds); kflavor (mostly vanilla with notable tweaks, cyan Fleshpound); hzkflavor (buffed: more damage and speed, longer medium reach, green Fleshpound); hzjflavor (even more buffed, changed Gorefiend and Gorefast, white Fleshpound); classic (slower Killing Floor 1-style Zeds, but large Zeds are fast when enraged and hit hard; pale yellow Fleshpound, nice for small maps). The mod's Zed documentation gives exact values.

Vampirism and AutoZedTime

!cdvp 1|0 enables vampirism (health on kill), good for play without a Medic. !cdvpr 1|2|3 sets the rate: trash Zeds heal 2, 3 or 4 and large Zeds 5, 7 or 9. !cdazt 1|0 turns on AutoZedTime, which keeps resetting Zed Time up to six times; if most players type !skip the auto-reset stops, and !cdsrv <value> sets how many votes are needed (adjust for 4 or 5 players).

Disabling spawners

Type debugv in the console to see the spawners and their numbers, then disable them in chat: !cdds 21 or several at once !cdds 21,20,22 (comma, no spaces). Type debugv again to hide the overlay. !cdvs 0|1 disables or enables vent spawners (wall, floor and ceiling spawners that only produce trash). !cdnsb creates a spawn volume where you stand.

Disabling pathnodes

Use debugnav in the console to show navigation points and !cddnp <numbers> (for example !cddnp 10,11,12) to remove them. Example: on Volter Manor two players want to hold only the main left lane. Disable pathnodes on the right lane a bit behind the door so Zeds do not use it, and close the door. Zeds still come if they see a player, because pathnodes only guide Zeds that have no line of sight. Check the back spawns with debugv and remove them with !cdds if needed.

Custom crosshair

Type xhairtoggle in the console (the key left of 1 above Tab opens it) to turn the custom crosshair on, and turn off the default one in Options, Gameplay, "Show crosshair". Other commands: xhairsize, xhairgap, xhairtshaped, xhairdot and xhairhideonads; color uses the RGBA values (255 255 255 255 by default).

CD menu

!cdm opens a small HUD with "Drop Locked" (friends cannot pick up your dropped weapons), "Pickup Others" (so you do not pick up teammates' drops) and "Disable Custom Sounds" (mutes the custom death and mod sounds).

FAQ

How do I restart a wave when the team is about to wipe?
Type !rw in chat. The wave is restarted with the trader time frozen; if the whole team already wiped the match may end anyway.
How do I make headless Scrakes and Fleshpounds die faster?
Use the headless multiplier commands !cdschd, !cdfphd and !cdmhd; the guide suggests 18 for Scrakes, 22 for Fleshpounds and 12 for medium Zeds so that one or two body shots finish them.
How do I disable a specific spawner?
Open the console, type debugv to see spawner numbers, then use !cdds followed by the numbers in chat, for example !cdds 21,20,22 (no spaces).
